It is not so much the starting of the posts but the vituperative nature of the responses to anyone who dares to have a contrary view which defines the WUM element. Calling IA a plum is a case in point.
I am all for lucid rationale debate but the school playground taunting of a bully leaves me cold as it did when I was 9. It itches most scratch, better to declare it an unknown infection and place it in quarantine on Dartford marshes. If you can't do that just stop scratching.

I like Vol, I don't always agree with him or Typical but they are dyed in the wool Charlton fans and that will do for me. Vol is definitely not WUM.

Vol posts some great threads, but he lets himself down with the digs. As almost all of us have said at some point or another, it is not the fact he disagrees with others on certain subjects, it is the way he goes all in on anyone who dares try to offer their different opinion.

I think Vol is a wind up merchant, Dick thinks he is not. The reason i think Vol is a wind up merchant is that had i been Vol in this position this would have happened. Dick has posted a differing opinion, i would have called for his season ticket to be set on fire and demand he pour his bovril down the sink. Would probably then mention something about him bringing his own sandwiches to games and tell you all i had been to a specific game in 1982 and that makes me more of a Charlton fan than you are.

All completely uncalled for and entirely irrelevant, it only causes the forum to go further and further downhill because people are sometimes staying away from posting because they cant be bothered with the grief that comes with it

Ah, a specific game in 1982. Like away at Chelsea, a sunny October day I seem to recall. Actually I don't but it's here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-5Kt1vjOxT0

What about that April 1982 1-1 draw at home to Watford? Nah, it's here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YuGwrXTI0w4

Make your own minds up fellas, I'm insinuating nothing.

It was his description of Powell as a player that did it for me.

Agreed but I haven't been insulted yet for backing Chris Powell in these discussions so I should be so lucky.

going back to the original purpose of this thread, yesterday Riga made mistakes. It's the first time I'm annoyed with him specifically for a result. Why play Church for 90 minutes? He said he was thinking of Tuesday in his substitutions.... I'm sorry, but you don't rest people when you're 0-0 at home in what is turning into a winnable position. Shocking decision to take JJ off.

Couldn't post last night as phone ran out of charge on the way back.

Poor performance, and for the record I thought we were set up wrong from the start. Groaned pre kick off on hearing that Church and Harriott were starting. Things then got worse when Riga appeared to be playing Spingebob as the loan striker. The penny has got to drop than when you start with Church you are playing with ten men.

Pettrucci and AA still don't look fit. Why ??

No excuses for Riga yesterday, it was a poor selection and poor subs/ tactics.

This particular WUM invested £96 in supporting his WUM team at Brighton next Saturday in addition to a truly WUMing £175 for a hotel at Blackpool on the last day of the season.

    <cheers><laugh>

Nice to hear the recession has not hit the mansions of Petts Wood.

There are hotels in Blackpool that charge £175 per night??

I'm more interested in whether you were at the Baseball Ground in 1988 and, if so, how much you spent.
