Its great that the club has done something like this to help away fans, but im not convinced they've gone about this the right way, Subsidizing travel and tickets to further or more expensive away games (Newcastle, sunderland, west ham, city) over the course of the season, like a lot of other clubs have, would have been a lot better in my eyes. Fair play to those who organized this anyway (Kreuger?)
Well, they've only been here since January and Swansea is the last away game of the season. So I guess that is why they chose the Swansea game.
Every club has to do something for away fans with the £200,000 fund the PL provided, so they'd have organized something in any instance. I agree though: spreading the benefit out by subsidizing away tickets for a larger pool of games is something they ought to look into, so that a larger group of people gain.
Was announced earlier in the season that we'd spent our £200k budget on improving the away facilities at St. Mary's, oddly.
Don't quite get this. Subsidised is subsided used. If they had chosen a different game, I bet the value per supporter would be the same. I.e., if it saves a fan £25, it would be £25 no matter what the game.
Despite my April Fooling earlier this week, I assure you this is 100% genuine. Was on the OS and had a timestamp on it saying it was posted at 07:00 on 5th of April by Jim Lucas. It's since been removed.
One away game doesn't benefit every away fan, for reasons like location etc and the fact that unless you've been to 9 away games this year you wont get a ticket. What about those with 5 away like a lot of us, I know those who have been to 9 away deserve it most, but 5 away is still a lot. My other point is that many other clubs put much more money into subsidising, stoke/villa amongst others do free coach (so more money needs to be put into it to start of with)
Details have appeared on #saints twitter account. It's up on the OS again http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/05052014-swansea-city-away-ticketing-information-1468181.aspx
Yep, all confirmed. Dates have changed though, so I'll edit those. Fans will have a choice of two meal vouchers (spoilt!), and Saints are also planning some other surprises...
