Its a bumper weekend for sport.

Not only do we have Wigan v Leeds, but we have the Grand National.

    Who's your money on?

Surely Leeds have to break their duck at some point, and today may be their day.

Hope McDermott breaks up the team a little, and throws a few youngsters in.

I'd love to see Dawson start, lets play Brown and Zeliukas too.

The Manchester-based businessman plotting a takeover bid for Leeds United intends to spend “several million pounds” on new players if he becomes the new owner, [football] direct news has discovered.
A source close to the mystery suitor told FDN the multi-millionaire believes fresh faces are needed if the Championship outfit are to be competitive next season and he has no qualms about investing heavily in the squad.

Considering Cellino spent 10m in a month, not sure what several million would do?

Morning <ok> I used to bet on the horses years ago but I haven't for a long long time apart from the occasional Grand National bet once a year.

I won't be bothering this year if I am honest, for me it will be Leeds on Sky followed by the Grand Prix qualifying as I have a day off today!!

Morning all. On paper it's a nailed on Wigan win. Maybe playing away from home will take a little bit of pressure off the players, but I just can't see this team suddenly pulling out all the stops and playing like Barcelona. It would have to be on TV, if we go behind early on, the heads could drop and another embarrassing result in front of the world could unfold.

Morning Este. Tax bill 800k due today. No money to pay it as they used it for the 50% players wages. Club has two weeks to pay before winding up order is served by the tax people. Thats as I read it anyway Este

GFH definitely have cash to cover it all - they are choosing not to spend it while there are others in the wings to listen to their pleas of poverty and bail us out. Is it possible for an affluent parent company to allow a subsidiary to rack up debts and leave them unpaid and go into administration, screwing over all the creditors? I have no idea of the legalities of that.

As for the game, this lot need to stop feeling sorry for themselves and just play football without fear

Morning all. I'd also like to see Dawson at least in the squad, if not actually start. We need to plan for next season, & small as he is, Brown could easily double up as dawson's body guard.

I can see us winning today, as we're under no pressure. No one expects us to do anything, & Wigan need the points.

On the National, I've got Long Run and Walkon, & the boss (she who is to be obeyed) is putting her shilling on Lion da...

No idea about the national. Only bet I ever placed was Amberleigh House on the national years ago. Came in at 16-1, so I've never placed another bet. Going to go to the grave the only man to ever beat the bookie. :bandit:

Yeah with a bucket and shovel. The Irish economy is still tanked. And horse **** sells for €2 a kilo on the street of Dublin.

I've been wondering about the legalities of that too. Surely the whole company has the money somewhere?! I think you could be on to something with the poverty sob story though.

Morning all by the way <ok>

Aren't they in negotiations to buy la Liga club Valencia for something like 600,000€ and yet they haven't paid anything at Leeds since October.

The whole thing just doesn't make any sense whatsoever
