This is in the gossip section of the BBC as published in the Metro. Now I know to take reports like this with a pinch of salt but has anyone seen this elsewhere? I really hope that there is no truth to it, Essien is far too good to be used as a makeweight in a deal for Modric! Your thoughts please?
There is no truth in it. Whilst we really need a more creative midfielder, modric is no better than Essien as a player so this deal would be mental!! Essien had a poor season by his standards but still one of the best around. The only realsitic makeweight I could see would be say Anelka. They need a Striker, we probably need to off load one if Lukaku comes in.
Agree with the above and can not for the life of me see this happening. This is the first place I have heard about it.
