    All this transfer talk and speculation got me thinking. Even though we appear to have missed out on our first choice signings ( Kevin Gameiro, Gervinho ) and are getting players from further down the wanted list. However sometimes this isn't the worst thing to happen, I remember when Kevin Keegan wanted to spend the Andy Cole money and tryed to buy Chris armstrong, failed! then George Weah, Failed! then finally got Les Ferdinand. He tryed to buy John Salako, failed! before he went for David Ginola.

    So what are the best nearly, possibly, if only's during our transfer dealings?

    The worst was Souness wanting Anelka and Boa Morte (when he was still good) and Fat Fred overruled him and got Luque and Owen :(

    Didn't Sir Bobby sign Carl Cort by mistake, He actually wanted Jason Euell. Though you would have thought that names would have cropped up while signing the contracts.
