Pearce is going back to manage forest. could be quite a good fit. He initially turned it down cos of family reasons.
Pearce was one of my footballing hero's and still is to some point , great leader and a terrific competitor but i dont think he quite has it to be a top footy manager, hope he can prove me wrong but cant see it. how many times have we seen great players fail at management ?.
I think he had some degree of success before us didn't he? With Kidderminster and Swansea? If we're talking our managers then it's hard to compete with Hateley.
Erm no, Stuart pearce is. He did terribley at both Forest previously and Man City. He spunked his entire transfer budget at Citeh on Samaras and then played him left wing. Samaras himself asked publicly a few months later "why sign me to play a position I have never played before?" I'll say it again - Samaras at left wing. So it begs the question, other than a PR move why would Forest want him back? Do they not remember how badly he did last time? It is like us going back for Mark Hateley. And he was f**king terrible as Under 21s boss, it's almost as if he gets more chances cos he showed some passion on a pitch. Well whoop di ****ing do.
Yeah, but he's proven to be a terrible manager. That's my point - why does he get more chances than, say Barnes or Hateley?
I agree he has not shown any signs that he will be a decent manager in his past endeavors in management. I see loads of average / poor managers who are never short of job offers. Take Michael Appleton , didnt he have 3 clubs in 3 months(Pompey / Blackburn / Blackpool , i think ) but did nothing at every club he was at ?
Hoddle is another whos name gets banded about when clubs are looking for new managers - he has been out of the game a while now which tells you everything you need to know.
