I dont see many people on here talking about Teaforthree - what is going on people?. I cant see this horse being out of the first 5 so thats one of the places gone for each way backers... Took to the fences well last year and lets be honest was a natural and this year runs off 2lbs lower!!!. Jumps for fun and stays well and had a nice prep in the Gold Cup. Dont believe all you read about that leaving its mark on Teaforthree. Last year they were worried about running him in the National with a seven week break. He's been aimed at this race all year and its worth bearing in mind last year they were gunning for the Welsh National.Curtis reports him never being in better shape, he needs a few runs to get him in to shape and the Cheltenham run would have put him spot on With the rain forecast will take the sting out the ground a bit and he will be running a huge race. Teaforthree 10/1 BPG NRNB E.W 5 places . Sizeable bet.
You gotta love the Grand National - so many stories coming out already... Obviously the media are latching on to Monbeg Dude and Mike Tindall and the royal connection with Zara Phillips doing her equestrian training... no race captures the publics imagination as much as this race. Its a great spectacle too - seeing horses jump the unique spruce fences (as opposed to the traditional birch ones) adds to it and makes it more exciting and then you have the large number of horses taking part and then if that isnt enough you have fallers, unseated riders and you still need that luck in running.. It really is the most exciting race to watch and the greatest spectacle for so many reasons.. I love it love love love it!!
Today at around 10 is final decs, the top 40 in the handicap will be in the race, if two are on same weight and position 40 then they are drawn out of a hat. You should see the final line up today around 11 (with the reserves which can replace a runner until sometime tomorrow)
Will never win definitely get placed but lacks the speed to win if something is fizzing up to the elbow and T43 is out in front he will get caught especially if it's Carberry on Monbeg Dude (IMO Monbeg Dude won't get round)
How many horses do you see finishing a 4m4f race with a finishing gusto. Most horses are slowing down and its normally a horse who is staying at the same pace. Surely Red Rum wasn't getting faster when he "mowed" down Crisp, but rather that horse stopping. Stamina is the name of the game.
You might be right but I feel quietly confident - well as you can be when you need quite a bit of luck in the race but Teaforthree rides prominently so in my view the risk is a lot less than backing other horses and of course he jumps very well. I just think his preparation has been outstanding this year. I watched him in the welsh national and at cheltenham and he looked a far better horse at Cheltenham - and I think he will come on again for that run. First Grand National Irish runner to arrive at the track was Raz De Maree who came over on Tuesday!! Thats quite a bit in advance and he's already won a Cork and Munster national. At a big big price he can run well. Trainer has expressed a wish for a low weight and he gets that with 10 stone 3lbs. Dessie Hughes doesnt have a bad recent record in the race - Rare Bob and In Compliance and Black Apalachi. I can see this one placing at a BIG BIG price.
I didn't mean exactly like on the bridle but look 2012 SUnnyhill boy leading all the way then getting caught by NC, then last year going over the last Aurora Encore found another gear to get away fro T43 he stays but lacks that extra gear from nowhere with what you need going over 4m4f
I absolutely do not have a scooby where to start this year. Either gut instinct, or possibly wind, is telling me to get on The Package, who has been backed. Rather worryingly though, David Pipe says they fancy him, which on all previous Pipe form must mean they fancy one of their other runners, neither of which appeal to me. Anyway, loving this Ladbroke's 16/1 the field promo, which opens again from 9.00-9.15. Probably I'll pop down the road in a mo, and back Long Run and Teaforthree at 16s. Trouble is, they probably won't win. Whereas Rocky Creek might. Perhaps I won't have a bet. Perhaps the Pope's a muslim.
Precise. Its Teaforthree for me, I really like him with the weight being lower this year and I think he has had a perfect preparation for the race. He was giving a stone away to the winner last year, and probably paid for getting racing a little bit too early. If he jumps as well this year, I think he may well be the winner.
Two EW fancies for me today BURTON POINT EW - 20/1 AVARADO EW 33/1 However, with the National now becoming les and less of challenge jumping wise i think class and big weights could now play more and more of a part. Despite thier big weights the sentimentalist in me would love to see TIDAL BAY or LONG RUN go well and at double figure odds of 20/1 and 16/1 respectfully are both worth a little each way money. Good luck today peeps, im ure there will be plenty of it needed, but most of all i wish all of the jockies and horses a safe return
I managed to narrow it down to 6.... Prince De Beauchene, Burton Port, Chance Du Roy, The Rainbow Hunter, Battle Group and Hawkes Point. Ive backed two - Prince De Beauchene and Battle Group
