When we all see reality in this enormous media fuelled Pompey 'love-in', perhaps we can have a thought for all those innocent hard working creditors, including some club staff, who are being fleeced by over-paid footballers and the idiots who continue to pay them what they are NOT worth. Particularly with clubs who punch well above their weight.

Putting particular football team, or club rivalry aside, I really hope that Portsmouth go to the wall for the media heralded celebrated way they have screwed up football finances for everybody else for years in paying way way beyond their means. The signing of David Norris is a prime example of how they paid an 'in-demand' player more than a justifiable wage, from finance that they clearly didnt have!

For once in my life I find myself fully supporting an MP, and the sooner Pompey go pop and are heralded by the multitude of talentless ex-pro Sky pundits as the reason that football is in the state it is, the better.

Here's hoping that Pompey are the example that British football needs to survive!

I for one hope they go bust and get wiped off the face of the earth.

My sisters ex was a Portsmouth fan and he was a grade A ****, it brings me great pleasure to know this will be upsetting him.

How can they pay Liam Lawrence 20k, Norris 15k+, Husklepp 10k+ When they where in a dire situation, its just disgraceful i think the fact that a punishment is the same no matter how many times you go into administration is wrong also, first time acceptable, well possible at least, second time should be immediate relagation and points the next season also.

Why are they allowed to do this?

What Mussie says makes sense but you have to feel sorry for the fans who are suffering (except for N's sister's ex of course) and I wouldn't like to see them wound up completely.

The obvious solution surely is to simply not allow the signings of players they can't afford. Everyone knew they were in the ****ter even last summer when they signed Norris, etc. so the authorities should just refuse to register the player for them! Dodgy owners have far too much influence on football at the moment. They can bring clubs to their knees and no one can stop them.

If that MP lost a few pounds she'd be quite doable...

It needs a few clubs to go out of business before anyone actually sits up from the "Sky-induced coma" football seems to be occupying. Once in administration is fine - but if it happens again the football club in question should be liquidated and if the fans want a club then do like Chester fans and set up a club from the ruins. Let's not forget Rangers in this. And somewhat related to this, in terms that football gets away with stuff - the Pulis getting away from a driving ban because it would in effect, according to the defence, have an adverse effect on the town of Stoke if he was banned - That is seriously not made up.

Get her to do the work and she can lose the weight while you're at it, it might sort out the bogeyedness as well.

    Bumped Thread but Relevant

Portsmouth are one club hoping that LIVERPOOL WIN the BPL for sure as Pompey stand to gain £1m from the sale of full back Glen Johnson.

Most needed wonga for sure. :emoticon-0159-music to the ears of the owners. <ok>

I lived with a Pompey fan through Uni, he told me that at the time (our 2nd season in the prem) they had John Utaka on 90k a week. He blamed, and I do agree mostly, old 'Arry for it, he said that in the space of 10 years he'd bankrupt half the sides on the south coast. Looking back at the timing, you could almost blame him for the recession.

Edit: I've just noticed the date on this thread, apologies.

Portsmouth's spending was crazy but surely the CEO should have told Harry ""NO"". But glad that the new owners are getting something from the past errors. Well hopefully they will.

£1m for a league 2 side is alot of wonga.
