    According to newspaper reports Adel Taarabt is wanted by Manchester United but the wantaway attacking midfielder has stated that he'd prefer to join a not very big club like Newcastle"

    Oh dear. Doesn't the man know that Newcastle are the biggest club in the world and will win the champeeeanz leeeeeeg?

    Wouldn't want him even on the bench, Ben Arfa, Cabaye both much better and would rather test young Mehdi Abied in midfield.

    Load of ****e, and a prime example of how the media creates its quotes by mixing words.

    This is exactly what he said:

    They're taking that last line and twisting it to claim that he said that Newcastle isn't a very big club. They even put it in bloody speech marks <doh>

    If he refers to "very big clubs" like Arsenal and Manchester United over us, then I can't really argue with that. They are very big clubs, and quite a bit bigger than us.

    I appreciate some halfwit journalist has probably twisted the words, or loaded the question in such a way to get that kind of statement - I do not need one of the very big clubs at this stage of my career in reference to Newcastle United but I pissed myself laughing at it.
    If there was the slightest bit of truth in the article, what a way to endear yourself to the fans <laugh>

    I think we miss a point, he may think Newcastle are a small club but we dont even get a mention.

    And why would we get a mention when we are not even in for him? He didn't mention Real Madrid, Arsenal, Celtic or Ryhope CW for that matter.
    The point is that he insinuated that Newcastle are just a small club near Sunderland...<whistle>
