Dont be a daft twonk. Nothing was mentioned about forcing. If the kid has any idea he will play to his best and see what offers he gets in Jan or next summer. Why rush ?

Or......in January we could be happy to just extend Graham's loan as he's only going to be an understudy and benchwarmer due to the mighty Sagbo being on 15 goals?

Weekend speculation has it that Spurs have told Jermaine Defoe that he can leave in january.

I wonder if Hudds and Livers can swing the deal. ? M.Dawson can also help our cause a bit.

Come January, I would like our business to look something like this:

Tom Cairney + Matty Fryatt & £2M/£3M to Blackburn with Jordan Rhodes in exchange.
Shane Long for between £1M/£2M from West Brom.
Jake Livermore made permanently. Probably around £2.5/£3M.
    Graham sent back to Sunderland.
Aaron McLean sold to any Club.

Apparently Thudd and Defoe are big mates. So who knows? It's still unlikely though.

^This. I would probably keep Graham though if McLean leaves.

Surprised how many of you would sell TC. If he's playing well with regular football, why not give him another chance in the Prem. Still a young lad after all and could be a good rotation player.

Would like an attacking RM on loan (probably Zaha as others have said) to replace elmo who could be useful on the bench or when we revert to 5 at the back every so often.
New striker regardless of how Sagbo is doing with Graham being sent back and Mclean/proschwitz being moved on. Maybe bring Fryatt back for some strength in depth?
Oh and Livermore to be made permanent.

The problem with Cairney is that I can't see him getting a look in with our current midfield. I would rate Quinn, Meyler, Thudd, Livermore, Koren, Boyd as higher in the pecking order. Besides, if Tom Cairney leaving meant Jordan Rhodes would sign, then it'd be a no-brainer for me.

Regardless of how well TC is playing for Blackburn, he is a midfielder. Swapping him for Rhodes would be much more beneficial to us.

That will likely be the first priority come January Jezza.

Not suggesting we do (nor suggesting we should not) but can we send Graham back in January? Thought it was a season long loan.

If there's a clause in his loan contract, then yes we can. I don't think he'd begrudge it either, unless by some miracle he starts finding the net.

Very true. After Livermore, getting Jordan Rhodes in january would be another top priority. Blackburn wont be going up this season and with the debts they have the pressure to sell and get him off the books will be greater. The PL prize money for a top 10 finish would more than pay for both Livermore and Rhodes. TC can then go the other way if he wants to.

In fact i am greedy. apart from Livermore annd Rhodes in jan lets go after Defoe "on loan" as well. With the chances we create they would fill there boots.

<laugh> Fair play, people don't normally bump their own posts when they get it wrong.
