2 from my tracker for tomorrow to.boost my war chest for Aintree 18.10 Leopardstown - Lone Star - No price yet 18.40 Leopardstown - Seeyouallcoppers- no price yet Good luck to all
Wincanton 16.15 7/2 V Neck - 2 points win 5/1 Henryville - 2 points win 8/1 Generous Ransom -0.5 point win
Wincanton 3.15 Velator 8/1 Not strong on this but think it's a fair price and has a reasonable chance. Won the race last year. Has O'Regan back up top. Yard now firing quite well. It's an each way poke before the real stuff starts tomorrow. Wincacton 4.45 Water Wagtail 7/2 Missed the 5's about this horse. Again, not particularly strong on it but just think that Lavelle may have got it down to a workable mark now and it's worth a small bet to see if the thinking is right. Wincanton 5.15 Jollyallan 9/2 If you're quick you can still get the 9/2 with Paddy and a couple of other firms for this bumper runner. The yard are great at this track. Great in bumpers. Excellent jockey on board. Money coming for it. At worst it's a trading opportunity.
Carvelas 14/1 Leopardstown 6:40 is well treated on bare form and I expect a good showing this evening.
Barcelona have been given a 2 transfer window transfer ban for incidents relating to the transfer of minors. Wow. Massive news. Valdes is on his way out as well so who's their goalkeeper next season? Dexter. Your thoughts please sir.
Bob as a Liverpool fan I can tell you that Pepe Reina wanted to get a move to Barca last year, hence Rogers decided to make the move for a new keeper, Mignolet, and ship him out on loan to Napoli... Looks like that dream move for Pepe has gone for a little while longer now...
Vorda 5/4 vs Miss France 15/8 tomorrow in the Guineas trial, ive backed Vorda at 20/1 for the Guineas a while ago because I thought she would be likely to beat Miss France on a sharp straight 7f in the trial. Shes still 20/1 with Hills and if she wins impressive tomorrow she might end up single figures.
That came out of the blue...no one was expecting that level of sanction to the best of my knowledge. It will be well recieved in Madrid, thats for sure..also amongst supporters of teams like Seville,Valencia and Athletic, whose talent will have one less poacher on the prowl. Don't know much about the ruling tbh, only just heard, but does it preclude Barcelona registering players from their Academy into the first team over the next season? The goal keeping situation is critical..Valdes's understudy,Pinto is a complete clown. They have a young keeper called Olazábal who used to play for the B team but don't recall him ever playing for the first eleven, maybe he has done in the early rounds of the Copa.Big problems in this area. The CH positions are also a concern.Puyol is retiring although he may well reconsider now!..Barcelona were intent on signing one or two in this position as well a right back to replace the aging Dani Alves. Up front isn't such a concern, they average 3 goals a game in La Liga and have recently added Neymar as well as retaining Pedro,Alexis and Messi amongst others. A holding midfielder was also a priority if reports recently are to be believed. I think an appeal may be forthcoming!...if that facility even exists. I wonder how many other clubs are looking over their shoulders re this diktat.
Afternoon all, quick question looking to go to Newmarket for the Saturday of the Guineas meeting for wedding anniversary (old romantic I’ am) with some friends, can anyone get cheap tickets or no of anyone that could. Many thanks.
Cheese and tomato baguette, hula hoops and a banana. All washed down with some orange squash. What do the great brains think about The Riverside Theatre going back over hurdles tomorrow then (5.25 Aintree)??? He was rated 163 when he contested his last Chase but gets in tomorrow’s hurdles heat off just 145! In his younger days the Theatre won 2/5 over hurdles and was Grade 1 placed – 7 lengths adrift of Hurricane Fly off levels. Could be a shrewd bit of placing and training from Mr Henderson, methinks.
There are a few in this Barney that mix timber and birch. At first perusal I note that Egardo Sol runs off a mark 11lb below his current 'chase mark and ran better than his finishing position would indicate at the Festival. This looks extremely competitive with 12lb's blanketing the 22 runner field.
Afternoon all, Interesting one in the 15:25 Lingfield for me: Dorback 11/4. Heavily backed last time and also again today. Suggests expect a good run. Good luck all.
so are we with Mossey Joe tomorrow or with Warne? I can guess where Barney will be putting his lucky pin.
I've read they can't buy or sell. No idea about the youth teams as it's a different set up in Spain is it not? Are they officially different teams or all under the Barca banner? I don't know about loans either. There'll be ways around it all I'm sure but UEFA will be watching them like a hawk. What a sanction? Brilliant.
Even if they resign Valdes he's out till Christmas. That defence is vulnerable now. Bye the way. Incredible goal from Atletico last night. I remember the Liverpool links for Costa last Summer and I scoffed thinking Pool we're taking a risk. How wrong was I?
Nass, I can’t understand why those bookie chappies aren’t quoting prices yet re the Foxhunters?!? Is there something underhand anticipated?!? On official rating Mossey Joe is 17 pounds+ ‘well in’ and on that line should seemingly have the race at his mercy. However, its Mr Waley-Cohen for me. Could be the first leg of an amazing treble for the forum’s favourite Corinthian. Although please note, pilgrims, the Rajdhani Express now goes in the Grade 1 Melling Chase, on Friday, rather than the ‘Topham’. Re the W-C’s incidentally I see that in the card commencer at Winkers (2.15) this afternoon the elder Mr Waley-Cohen’s Makadamia is ridden by Tom Scudamore as opposed to dear old Sam. Cor blimey, to use a footballing analogy, that’s like replacing The Arsenal with Chippenham Town!
I spoke too soon Bet365 are now quoting. They shout 11/8 Mossey Joe, 4/1 Warne, 8/1 Supreme Doc, 9/1 Richards Sundance, 12/1 Cottage Oak, 14/1 Brunswick Gold, 16/1 Pentific, Tartan Snow, 20/1 Boxer Georg, Cool Friend, 33/1 Bar. Front 2 both look very, very short in my view.
I had some rather tasty ravioli filled with cream cheese, smothered in a deliciously spicy pumpkin sauce, a side dish of steamed vegetables and a wholemeal roll with pumpkin seeds (bit of a pumpkin theme today). No alcohol since Sunday ................ starting to get feeling back in certain body parts
