When I started supporting Sunderland we had never been relegated and had never played in any other division bar the first as it was known then, we were the only team to be able to say this, oh happy days.
Went to my first match (sitting on a crush barrier in the Roker end ) in the 1957/8 season - had to be the Fulwell end eventually though!
Unfortunately, I think it'll be when, not if. Such a shame. Very sad. I'll have been alive for all of the relegations, although I can't remember the first. I can remember the ecstasy of the first promotion, in '64, though!
Arsenal were relegated pre-war and bought a place back from Leyton Orient immediately after the First War Everton relegated around 1932 for one season, came straight back up and won the league! x
Aye, just been on the Everton site, and they have indeed been down 1 year, the Everton thing is that they have the record for most seasons in the top flight. Learn every day...
I'm only 33 and I have been through too many relagations. Our fans deserve something to chear about instead of another bullshit 5 year plan.
been through two as far as i can remember, the after Reids first great season in the PL, and the other with the 15 point season.
