either Church is on a goal run or we aren't gonna score many the rest of the season. I fear its the latter.
AHLL's recently posted video of the Wembley play off final was a timely reminder of the genius of Clive Mendonca. What a finisher he was. For those that never saw him in comparison to Simon Church, imagine asking a pit pony to race the Derby winner over a mile and a half
Were you at his testimonial. V-a-v? He was retired with a back problem, but even in his 10 minute cameo he looked better, especially his movement, than our present strikers!
Mendonca was pure class... His movement was impressive, and his first touch was sublime... Remember him being constantly held up as an example of how difficult it is to make the step up from Champs striker to PL striker, mainly by the number one bongo brain Rodney Marsh, yet he never noted the fact that Mendonca was injured for a lot of that season... In answer to question, having seen plenty of game time from the others, I say Reza or Obika...
Mendonca and Darren Bent are up there as two of the best finishers I have seen in football, not just from watching Charlton. Andy Hunt was deadly as well, a player who struggled in the prem first time round but looked far more dangerous second time around before having his career cruelly cut short. In answer to your question, Obika and Reza.
Yep Mendonca had a great touch, as well. It gave him that extra second of time to compose his finish. Great striker. Done his brains since quitting, which is a great shame.
