Starting with that formation tonight in a 'must win' home game is shocking. Pretty much going out with 7 defenders. Never gonna break teams down like that. It certainly doesnt fill you with confidence when Cattermole is the man charging into the box from midfield, and Im a Cattermole fan. Cant see us staying up after tonight, but I hope to God Im wrong.
I disagree mate, we couldnt do much on the first goal, Carroll is a beast. You must admit though, the team selection was wrong, maybe a i was hasty to say it was the only reason but it didnt help one bit.
Once he gets the run he is unstoppable, JOS lost him and allowed him to get a run and a leap Yes, team selection was wrong. Vergini shouldn't be the near the team for the rest of the season. Johnson should have started in his place
It could have been mate, I was in the Bell, but was a grey polo. Ha. Whickham, by the way, is ****ing appaling. Elton John will turn before that useless ****e. The crowning cherry on the hundreds of millions worth of cake that tastes like a dog ****. £8.5 million man. What. The. ****.
Howard Webb had a good hand in our defeat as he often does! How the **** is that not a penalty? That's 4 times we should've had pens for handball this season. Villa away (2pts) Villa, Spurs and West Ham.home, 3 points. So other than our own ineptitude, refs haven't exactly been kind to us in these decisions. We're down now so have a bit of freedom.
What would be typical, now we're under less pressure is pick up points in our next four. Then with us being in with a great shout of staying up we cock up in our home games against WBA, Cardiff and Swansea
Leeds , Derby & Forest always been good away days like. Donny not too far either, maybe Wigan, we always have a good squad over there.
I have been saying this about O'Shea since he was signed, but no manager or scout has come up with any convincing replacement but one must be found eventually, but it is too late now to save this season, or is it? We must live in hope rather than expectation.
Don't knock Conner fella, even though he's pure ****e, the Wickham crew might get upset and accuse of being a Jozy fan in the process
3 shots and 4 passes which led to attacking moves. More shots in 2 games than Jozy has in his last 5 games. I didn't think Wickham did too badly tonight. Harried and fought. He's 6 foot 3 and 18 stone so expecting a messi turn is slightly unrealistic but he did win the ball a few times. He also wanted to score. He wanted to take a shot. Something strikers are seemingly scared of at Sunderland
Mate a Messi turn is one thing, I swear I went from access 11 to the toilet, and for a pie, and back to my seat, then decided I wanted a Boost as well, and got back, and he was still in the same turn. Not even lying
See this was why I used the sarcasm. What does Jozy have to do with my opinion on Conner? They're both ****e and I'm board to tears with this sad, pathetic Shinny Turd Competition that i'm not even interested in, they're both ****e imo. I'm in the group who doesn't like either so save it for the Jozy Fans please fella. It would be nice to discuss one without the other but I can't because I get dragged into these comparisons every time as though I've taken a side. I'm on no side, I repeat, they're both ****. Plenty of people on here who'll indulge you fella, but I'm out
Play video Poyet: We'll keep battling Published: 31 March, 2014 by Stuart Vose 'We were probably better than them in every aspect of the game except the final score.' Gus Poyet couldn’t find fault with his players’ effort and commitment following the defeat to West Ham. Goals in each half saw Sunderland fall 2-0 behind before substitute Adam Johnson halved the deficit with a fine curling finish. “The players showed spirit,” the Uruguayan told SAFSee after seeing the Hammers hold out in the face of late pressure. “We ask them to maintain and organisation and style of play and I think we did that during the game and put the opposition under pressure. “I think the situation is simple – we were probably better than them in every aspect of the game except the final score. “That hurts a lot, but we are not going to give up.” Carroll gave the visitors the lead after nine minutes with a close-range header from a corner before Diame profited from a deflection off Santiago Vergini to double the advantage just after the break before Johnson struck. “I was disappointed with the first goal,” Poyet added. “We talked about it, but at the end of the day we didn’t cope with the situation. “The second goal was similar. It’s a second ball and a deflected shot. It was a typical game of a team towards the bottom – we were the better side, passed the ball better, had more shots and then a deflected goal goes in.” Meanwhile Poyet has pledged to “keep battling” with eight games remaining, starting with next Monday’s trip to Spurs. “Today the message is we are defending the football club to the best of our ability, starting from me to the last person in that dressing room. “We gave everything possible; we tried our best but couldn’t win. The only thing to do is keep doing it until the end of the season. “We must keep battling. We must believe and it’s my job to make sure everybody does that.” http://www.safc.com/news/team-news/2014/march/poyet-we-will-keep-battling Video ^^^^**^^
