As Brucey has said all along 10 wins should do it; and I reckon that if we lose 5 of the remaining 6 games we have, and only win one, with our superior goal difference 36 points will be enough. Deffo 3 teams worse than us; Cardiff and Fulham have gone for me, and whilst I thought Norwich would be the third team particularly with their run in, I am increasingly of the belief that Sunderland won't get more than another 10 points and could be right in it come the death along with WBA. That said I'm forecasting we'll finish on 39 points in fifteenth place. I'm guessing we would all have taken that if offered, before we kicked a ball! So Fulham, Cardiff and either Norwich, WBA or Sunderland for the drop
If it came down to goal difference, I don't think it'd favour us. It does right now, but in order for us to have it decided on goal difference, we'd have to do a lot of losing, and another team a lot of winning.
Hmm, just looked at the fixtures and the only game I can see us even possibly winning is this Saturday's vs Swansea. If we dont win this I think we're right in it you know... I might have a cheeky few quid on us getting relegated then at least it's a mild sweetener if we do.
Man Utd away as well. Away at Villa will be tough though. 3 very winnable games and one where we've a decent chance.
15th..my prediction pre season. Though no way did I think we would get to Wembley. As supporters we really are lucky to be the ones watching our greatest season ever. I wouldn't be surprised if we got a win v Arsenal , or Man U , or Everton .
Nup. They'll beat us. As will Villa. I can see Fulham winning 3 of their next 4 games and suddenley getting excited, before falling just short.
Fulham will be down and out by the time we go there. That said we've still got to turn up and do a job! Villa will have nowt but pride to play for and have one of the worst home records. That said they've blown some top sides away and been beaten easily by teams around us.
Yeah precisely, and history tells us that's when a lot of teams suddenley start winning. We often hear "why couldnt they have done that earlier?" Simple answer, the players didnt like the manager so didnt try for him and they dont want to be at the relegated club and they're looking for a transfer. Ergo they suddenley start trying.
They are down there for a reason, and often clubs already knowing their fate try out fringe squad players looking ahead. If we turn up and play like we can, then the points are there for the taking. As is often the case this season, whoever scores the first goal generally gets the result.
I'd suggest the reason they're down there is because they have too many 'older pros' looking for one last payday without the desire to run through walls for their club who also know their influence and that if they dont try, the manager they dont like will get sacked. Why do you think Felix has suddenley started playing hungry teenagers?
Let's hope he doesn't start feeding them, or if he does it's on a diet of crap like loads of McD's. You can't play at your best if your not fed and really hungry. I think we'll more likely win at Fulham than at home to Swansea. Although a win at both would of course be very nice.
As someone said on another thread, just like last season, all we needed was one win & we couldn't get it against teams that we should have beaten easily, e.g.Barnsley, but they were battling for survival & wanted it more on the day. Also Crystal Palace have just beaten Chelski this weekend & who saw that coming? We're not ok until mathematically safe, even though I agree with the OP that we need only 1 more win, I'd like to see us win as many as possible & pick up points wherever we can, I don't care about who the opposition is.
