But Laudrup didn't buy Williams, Rangel, Routledge, Vorm, Bony, Davies, Shelvey, Britton and Dyer. There is no point saying Shelvey and Bony came here during Laudrups reign as manager as it was heavily discussed here that those two were the boards acquisitions.
Laudrup molded his and past players together , look at Routledge , he made Routledge where no one else could . Davies wouldn't have gotten a look if nor for Laudrup history of giving young players a chance . Really grasping at straws to say players like Bony and Shelvey weren't brought in by Laudrup because you "Discussed it " and drew conclusions . No worries though, I'm used to the bad treatment of good managers around here after they go .We could win the rest of our games and it will still be an unfinished season to me , we could be farther along if ....
Well I see you can read, what don't you understand . Laudrup made a miracle out of Routledge and most managers would't have given Davies a chance when Taylor went down . Laudrup has a long history of giving young players big chances back when he first started with the national team.If you cant see the difference Laudrup made with Routledge , its you thats been drinking
I know what you are saying roof but your missing the point...Laudrup messed up running the club, he lost the players respect and the boards because of his attitude around the club and his day to day running of the club, That was his downfall that led to his sacking, he could not command the players respect and we all know that the players were training themselves at times. Laudrup was against the fans having any say at boardroom level as he thought they should not be there. The point is he thought he was bigger than the club because of who he was and that started our downfall and disharmony at the club and that cant be right. The board and certainly the fans trust wanted him sacked long ago and it was Jenkins who tried to talk to laudrup but he would not listen. He wanted to get sacked in the end and would not walk as that would cost him money and i cannot blame him for that as any manager would do the same but the latest is and i got this from my friend on the fans trust that he wants £4.2 million in compensation Plus another million if we stay up...This shows the type of bloke he is as that is over £2 million what he is entitled too. And this rubbish of wanting £1000,000 if we stay up is ludicrous and bazaar to say the least.....At the end of the day he was not the type of manager to run Swansea city as he ruined the harmony we had at the club with his ways. Its a shame as i was pleased as anyone with his appointment at the beginning....
I do not know how Laudrup can think he is entitled to a 1 Million bonus if we stay up, when he was sacked for running us almost into the drop zone, it will not happen in my view and no should it! He's entitled to have his contract paid up though...................
Thank you for your condescending reply, yes I can read - thank you for acknowledging that but if you would just engage your brain before slagging me off you would realise that I was a Laudrup fan - as for the rest of your post 'laudrup made a miracle out of Routledge' - what does that even mean? And what national team did Laudrup give young players chances in?
Dragon the club has no intention of paying him what he wants and have put the ball back in his court to try and sue the club. A few months has now past and no writ has been forthcoming, We will end up paying him what he is entitled to and that is fair to all parties. Laudrup dont stand a chance of getting anymore..He will have earned a tidy sum for his short time with us dont you think, there is no need to try and rip us off..
I'll leave the last of my anger here on this thread re: "Laudrup sacking ", and try not to give any credit to him as it angers others . Thanks for some great history and exciting times Mr. Laudrup , I'll will always wonder how much more history you might have made with us if given an earned chance to finish what you started .
Relegation without a shadow of doubt plus players wanting to leave because they could not stand another season of his lackluster ways of running the club...that's what would have happened roof...
I agree. I don't like the idea of getting rid of the manager in the middle of Cup, Europa runs and league season. This was a season with huge potential. I don't know what was on behind the scenes but it seems things were not right. This does not necessarily mean Laudrup himself was totally to blame. Whatever the truth he definitely had a positive input to our playing style. Flicks, back heals, passing with outside of boot, lob passes have become more prominent since laudrup and with Routledge in particular. Lets hope we avoid relegation and hold on to our first team players in the Summer. Whatever happens the board need to have a good look at what happened thro pre-season to end of season.
There is no mystery to the sacking. He was sacked for a breach of contract. Swansea City FC are a business, and in business there must be a hierarchy. The chairman asked the manager to sack the staff that worked under him. The manager refused. Therefore the manager had to lose his job as he was not carrying out his duties.
It really is that easy. Huw Jenkins explicitly stated that it was a breach of contract termination, and Laudrup openly stated that he was asked to fire his coaching staff and refused. It's not half as interesting or dramatic as some of the conspiracy theories that I've seen mentioned on here, but then again the truth rarely is.
Snap Roof, Laudrup was the greatest manager we have had at the club, first ever trophy won, fantastic time in Europe, highest league position. He will for ever be linked with this clubs greatest ever period no matter what these naysayers say. So many ignorant people on forums.
