Good solid performance all round. Thought Flanagan was top class again and his turn when in danger to set up Coutinho's goal was pure class. Sterling was also very good. Those 2 were probably my MOTM with Skrtel/Agger just behind. They didn't have lots to do but put in a couple of very important blocks and won everything in the air. Sturridge was very quiet today though, maybe just having an off day?
just seen a email sent on lfctv that said, on top of the world ma ynwa. thought that was appropriate being mothers day lol
I wasn't that confident today, TBH. But the lads, thankfully, proved me wrong. Great performance, today. Controlled it like the Manchester United game at OT. Very happy for the team and very happy for BR. And SG. Basically, I'm loving this weekend of football!
That 3rd goal is a perfect example of the way Rodger's likes to play. Keep the ball at the back, draw the opposition out and 90% of teams when they press, only press individually. You see 3 Spurs players press and it's so east because Liverpool just knocked it around them and then all of a sudden a huge gap appears as only half the team have pressed. when Barca press teams, they do it as a team so you get past 1, there is another, get past that one, still another. Mot other team can't do that so if you can keep your head and are confident in passing you can easily pick off players.
9-0 aggregate! Liverpool have now scored 4 goals or more in 11 games this season. Which is a new Premier League record. # Liverpool now 2.75 goals a game this season. Spurs 1960-61 were 2.73. Most prolific since 1945
Brilliant tweet from Empire of the Kop: "So Sherwood claimed that we were a one man team. Well there is the response, 4 goals using 4 different players, including one of his own."
