how anyone can vote Meyler is beyond me - I've never seen such awful passing - either to a Stoke player or over-hit - in fact most of our passing was **** today - very disappointing - best three were Davies, Chester and Huddlestone - worst were Meyler, Bruce an Long
I don't think anyone was wonderful, but Meyler put a good shift in and was enterprising, though yes he like many was guilty of some woeful passes. Davies made more mistakes than usual. But the worst pass came from Elmo, because it was a game-loser.
Davies and Bruce, with the help of Elmo (and in a different way Jelavic) cost us the game. It was a suicide pass, but what the **** was Davies doing chasing it to attempt to stop it going out for a throw? He pulled out wide after the ball and opened a wide enough gap between the defenders to taxi a Concorde through, which is where Bruce should have moved across and covered that space and he just bloody stood still. 3 big mistakes from 3 separate players all within mere seconds of each other, it's galling. If just one of them had got it right we'd almost certainly have taken a point home today. Jelavic, well, just can't go missing sitter after sitter, not for the amount he cost. Great at getting into lethal positions but he's got the touch of a rapist. That miss kick was as bad as anything I've seen.
Not sure I should even vote this week as my stream was very intermittent in the first half. I had a good stream in the second half and thought we played well against an in form and well organized team. On what I did see I'll go with ... Meyler...for his all round effort Rosie...despite his horrendous miss in the first half Chester/Long....cant decide..half point each.
Really difficult today as we should be saying poor footballing display, workman like but job done we got a point. Poor individual mistakes from a lot of players today, bad touch -bad technique- not holding the ball- poor lay offs- not clinical enough etc etc. Chester Meyler Harper
Rosie Chezzy Meyler I thought Huddlestone was our best player first half, but he was poor in the second.
Chester Meyler Rosenior I thought Meyler was outstanding in the first half but he seemed to tire in the second half. Its not often i have said this this season but i think Bruce got it wrong yesterday. The team tired badly in the second half, i think he should have made a few more changes from wednesday night. Livermore looked shattered the whole game, Elmo was woefully off colour, even Davies looked a bit off the pace.
