I think that is a fair assessment. It just seems ridiculous how many managers in the top half of the table are under scrutiny: Wenger, Pardew, Moyes and Allardyce. I am not saying that they are all doing excellent jobs, however people sometimes need to be realistic and look at the context!

This pretty much sums up my feelings.

Pardew would do better with a stronger squad, but there is a limit to how far he could take us. With MA at the helm we're unlikely invest to the point where it's Pardew alone who is limiting us.

WE are absolute rubbish at the moment with some players not looking interested ( Mr Gouffran are you listening ). Since Boxing Day our record reads as follows.
P 15 W4 D1 L10 For 10 Against 26. 2 of those wins were with goals scored in the last minute too. This is relegation form.

Mr Pardew this is shocking and to hear you say tonight our players looked " Leggy " is a joke. Can you not motivate players either before the match starts or at ½ time because they look as if they couldn't give a damn these past few weeks. I would suggest you can't get anything more out of these players and therefore I suggest you leave for a new challenge and let us have someone capable of giving us a team that just doesn't roll over week after week.

Was it Pardew or our scouts that highlighted how good Lambert was?

Pardew as a manager is ok, it's just a shame his personality is that of a ****.

That is a fair point about the scouts, although he made no secret of saying that he thought Fonte and Lambert could develop into very good players. For League One he was a decent appointment although I could relate to Adkins as a person much more.

But is that maybe your teams problem. Not only did you sell one of your key players (nothing Pardew can do about that) you have been 'safe' for a long time and some of the players don't seem to have a high work rate. Our team looks young and hungry and a collective team (possibly as a result of the amount of academy players) but Newcastle do not. Is that the fault of your manager - maybe. He might not motivate them but Pardew certainly seems to care so either they don't respect him or lack determination.

Oh, for fux sake - I have zero managerial experience, so could easily sit in front of TV cameras and appear to "care". The point is this fcker has been sat in front of TV cameras trying to explain away shocking performances around 15 or more times in the past two seasons. We have the same excuses being trotted out against Sunderland (three times), Liverpool, Spurs, Everton, Reading, Brighton (twice) and now Southampton. No Magpie thinks we have a right to win at Southampton, but we have a right to performances with heart. This excellent Saints side, rightly receiving plaudits, only now sits a place above us, so the cry is "aren't we doing ok?" - yet I don't see any other side suffering from the same abjectly poor performances as we do, where our one decent performer doesn't even belong to us.

There's something just not right about it all. I don't know how, so often, the players seem to give not one fcking hoot if the manager isn't somehow to blame. Are we suggesting that somehow Pardew now and again tactically rallies a Championship-quality side to victory? Is that what's in his head, is that how we're misguided? That the eleven/fourteen players he could pick from today are literally divisions below the likes of Southampton and Everton? That we are only elevated to Premier League status on the brilliance of one or two players, and that is the glue that keeps it all together?

Crap. Utter crap. Any other manager would think - you know what, I've got no fit right backs, three fit centre backs so this week I'm going to go with 3 at the back. He doesn't. Its 4-4-2 and hope for the best. Corners are becoming, if they aren't already, a fcking joke. Fck it, I'm passed caring.

'Tis a fair point, of course they have invested more and that is no doubt going to make a difference. Is it £40m more? They'd have had to spend around £70m to make up that sum, is that right? Not sure myself. By the same token it's easy to just say "they cost this, and that, we only spent this" - Sissoko/Gouffran were picked up for cheap because contracts and circumstance allowed. It's canny, it's part of the game, but it's fck all to do with Pardew. Some of the players they paid big money for weren't available today - Wanyama one of those. But it's the attitude, application, flair for the game, love for what you want to do - why are we so far behind? Do we lay it all at Ashley's door?

On his conduct as club owner to date - yes. Pardew is limited and should be replaced if our owner wanted to invest seriously and push for top 4, but he has proven he can do better when he has better players at his disposal. Players are very fragile beasts these days and I think any manager would struggle to keep confidence and spirits up when said players see the extreme lack of ambition at the end of each transfer window. No permanent signings for 18 months come the summer transfer window says it all... In fact, in the last 4 transfer windows we have signed a grand total of 4 players who are deemed good enough to be starting 11 - Anita, Sissoko, Debuchy and Gouffran. That's pretty shocking. At days end Ashley holds the purse strings and decides to further damage club and supporter morale by appointing people like JFK, so he has to take the blame.

Unless I'm getting this wrong, you're saying that football begins and ends with the money spent on the team? How many of that Saints line-up have been bought in the last 4 transfer windows? How many of the Everton side that decimated us? Maybe I'm looking at it wrong - maybe that Brighton team that two years running dumped us in the cup, maybe that was all about money, right? It's no defense of Ashley, he's in this too. But are you saying that each of the EIGHTEEN times a Pardew-led Newcastle has been beaten by 3 goals or more in the last two years is purely down to money??

Perhaps you just have an inflated opinion of where you should be in the league, I was at the game today and I thought you were worse than when we played Fulham at home and that is saying something?

Only one possible explanation for this pathetic display is that from somewhere Newcastle have acquired an inherent fear of playing against a team in Red and White
