I'd be interested to know what the consensus is.
Personally I'm convinced he will be away... and that it has all been agreed for the bulk of this season...

The only stumbling block is his contract, the only reason he'd stay, and the only reason other clubs would be put off. However, he's made it abundantly clear that money is no longer a motivating factor in his future, so I think he's gone. Nothing to stay around for, is there?

No I don't think he will be here.

We've had this 'will he, won't he' for what 18 months now, and while he's stuck with us and put everything (generally) into his performances for us, at some point he has to leave and I think it will be this summer.

Hello Mrs Magpie!!! Longggggg time no comment :(

Shame it's got to be on such a negative, depressing Toon not606 forum at present! Any potential ray of hope is like a the torch light you move around the floor so your dog goes mental chasing it...

Hello TJPF :emoticon-0100-smile Yes, not posted in awhile but I do keeping looking in on everyone every now and again :emoticon-0105-wink:

I think everyone just feels a bit flat right now, as we're in that position of not being in with a chance of coming away with anything significant this season but also not chewing our nails down as we hope we avoid the drop.

I'm not the only one that uses the torch light trick then :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Can't see him staying in view of the state of the squad. Quite a few new players needed so will he want to be a part of a re-building program. I think not at his age.

    I don't really see what's changed.
He would like to move back to Argentina, but the club that wants him and he wants to play for cant afford him.
So unless MA suddenly has a personality transplant, I cant see how Colo can go anywhere.
Its not as if he can just walk out or has a clause in his contract letting him go.
A continued case of 'pay up or shut up'.

I voted yes, just to buck the trend. I am neither a sheep, nor a lemming.

We're a better team with him in it. He takes control and always makes himself available to receive the ball apart from his dour defending.

    A good captain.

I think he will. He loves playing for the club and everything seems to have settled down. Has his missus come back? That could be the deciding factor.

His current thoughts on his future:

Fabricio Coloccini insists he won't think about his Newcastle United future until the end of the season.

The 32-year-old defender has been constantly linked with a move back to his native Argentina.

But, with two years left on his current deal and with him being an integral part of the squad, Newcastle do not appear in any hurry to let him leave.

Alan Pardew stated this week he is not worried about Coloccini leaving, and the defender admits he is not thinking about the future.

"I think we have to think about the seven games, and then start to think about other things," Coloccini told the Shields Gazette.

"But I have a contract here for a long time, and that is all I can say.

"We have to improve for next season and take as many points as possible."

Voted NO as l think his leaving has been imminent for too long now. Sadly l think we will see him leave and we will be the poorer side for it.

However, staying true to my deluded heritage l shall keep my fingers crossed and hope to be proven wrong on this one, although l think one more season is all he has left to give anyway.

Hello ACS thank you for enquiring as to my status. Unfortunately l have been in the wars a bit lately, having undergone surgery for a detached retina. Not particularly pleasant, but you cannot take chances with your eyesight.

Having said that, even l could score more goals than our current strike force! And l can only see out of one eye!!!
Do you think they misunderstood the term "strike" and are taking it too literally. Lol
Hope you are well, l have not posted much recently, but do read the forum most days.
