Does this sound familiar to a parallel story?

The chairman of the newly named "Trinity College, University of Dublin" sniggered coyly whilst saying "hehe I sometimes call them Trinity College Dublin by mistake too".

The name change is set to bring them millions of euros worth of investment, in 2 years, or is that 10 years? Oh actually, wait a minute...

Trinity College Dublin (TCD) as its commonly know as is as old as the come and sits alongside Oxford and Cambridge in historical significance.

Like ourselves its Hull City and the Tigers as our nickname and should not be altered.

Yes it is a University but doesn't have it in its official title. There are just seven universities here (excluding the North) University College Dublin (UCD), Dublin City University (DCU), two under the umberella of National University of Ireland, NUI Maynooth, NUI Galway, the other two being University College Cork ((UCC) and the University of Limerick (UL).

Non need rebranding through name changes. And given the size of the popluation are all thriving with high standards and quality courses which are well respected globally.
