A marriage shouldn't have secrets. Tell her to sack off her secret trip because you're off to Wembley.

She's a succubus. She takes pleasure in dealing torture and bending him to her will, and will be equally pleased when her crazy mental torture drives him to divorce and she gets 50% before moving on to the next victim.

    Maybe.

    Probably not.

Nobody has pointed out the obvious - she has booked an executive box at Wembley for the FA cup final!

Imagine how irate BTT would be, when he tells her to cancel the secret trip, which she then does, just so he can stand in the cheap seats. Then when BTT finds he couldn't get a ticket anyway due to the multitude of 50,000 lifelong supporters getting theirs first, and opts to watch it in a bar near the ground instead..... And as BTT stands there slowly partaking in a pint of the southern pi**, Mrs BTT rings up and tells him "This is what you could have had !!"

Bloody hell BTT - you think you've got problems.
I'm trying to think of a way to explain to my missus why it should be OK for me to dip into the family savings so I can travel over from Australia for the FA Cup.
I might offer to sell my motorbike in the hope she'll feel so sorry for me she'll lovingly tell me I should go with her blessing - without selling the bike of-course.

    Slip out the back, Jack
    Make a new plan, Stan
You don't need to be coy, Roy
    Just listen to me
    Hop on the bus, Gus
You don't need to discuss much
Just drop off the key, Lee
    And get yourself free

Buy her something pretty and use it to distract her as you explain that you choose football. She'll get over it- us women always do!

Family is the most precious thing in the world, of course you should not go to the cup final - it's only a game of football. Show her how much you love her and spend as much quality time as possible with your wife and son, you will not regret it.
PS can I have your cup final ticket?

I know you chose the football anyway, but would you have been stronger in your support of it if you'd realised he was talking about the potential Final rather than the semi-final when you made your post?

What if it was between spending a night with mcgregor or hull city FA cup semi final?

If you answer FA cup semi final, what if doing so would really upset mcgregor?

Still no contest you have had & will have plenty of birthdays but the final has never & might never happen again. Once you are at the stadium your guilt will subside. The clock is ticking DONT PAY THAT FINAL BALANCE
