Do we deserve to stay up?

Whats this we Dai, you said you were leaving after this season, you cant back out now youve built my hope's up.

 

Let me put it back to you Downtime, do you think we deserve to go down? if so why?

I hope you do and think you will....deserve is a word that has many interpretations - you have been missing a few key players, most notably Michu yet for me you are amongst the best 3 teams to watch play football in the PL - now my regular football fare is a million miles away from that. I hope to continue to see your team ply your trade there. Ever since you came to FP and beat us in the cup a fair few years back I've admired the Swans. Wish you well....still a shame you got rid of Laudrup though. PUP

 

As already mentioned, the word deserve can mean many things in this context.

We're the only team in the relegation fight that's played Europa League football (with some fantastic performances) and you could argue that a less demanding fixture list would have given the players a bit more rest and a few more points on the board.

That being said the bottom 3 teams will go down and whether they deserved it or not is irrelevant. I get the feeling that a few of the Swans players came into this season thinking that retaining their Premier League status was almost guaranteed based on the previous season where we over-performed.

Playing more attractive football than say Stoke or West Ham doesn't mean we deserve it more, it's just their style of play and if that keeps them in the Premier League then you can't say they didn't deserve it.

 

Thanks mate it's why I think we deserve to stay up and will in my view, This season has been a big learning curve for a small club like ours, but hopefully we will regroup come the summer and come out fighting fit for our next season in the Premier League!.....

 

Our remaining fixtures might mean we`ll have to re-write what`s happened before. Since we`ve been in this division, how many of these fixtures have we won? Barring Hull.

Newcastle, Sunderland, and Norwich are all winnable! Didn't we see off chelsea twice last season in the Cup? Hell so much negativity........................

I haven't read everyone elses posts so sorry if I repeat something someone else has said.

We're a good enough team to stay up in my opinion looking at our players and the performances we put in. But only if we have enough points at the end of the season do we deserve to stay up.

 

All fans would like to think their club deserves to stay up, especially if you're considered entertaining rather than hoofballers but, as has been pointed out, you really only deserve it if you earn it with enough points.

 

Another 2 wins should now do it in my view!....................

 

Think two wins and a draw then that should be enough for safety. Oh to get them points sooner rather than later, then I can relax a bit.
