DD - I agree about Fergie. Personally, I hope that Moyes is being given time to get knocked out of the Champions league by Bayern. At which point you've got to look at the position the club is in now and say that it's been disastrous and move him on with a nice pay out for his efforts. With roughly 5 games of the season remaining at that point i'd be moving Giggs in to the management post on a temporary basis. Moving on the rest of the back room staff and bringing in the old guard be it Phelan/Meulensteen or Scholes/G. Nev. Some of your players i agree with. One I can't. Rafael is a rash young man but he is a class right back. Yesterday we were badly in need of pace in the team. He was the only player who injected any kind of zip into the performance. He was outstanding just before their first goal with a slide tackle but the rub of the green went with City and the rebound off the post went to their man. You can look at Evra's performance there because he stopped playing for a second and let Dzeko get away for an easy tap in. There were no problems down the right last night. It was all down the left. I'd love Evra as a back up/rotation player but he'll get an offer to start in Milan or Monaco and to be fair, even as a United fan, I'm taking those offers 100 times out of 100 over rainy Carrington every morning. What they're doing with Nani is beyond me. Yes, he's been disappointing but it's undeniable we have been better with him in the squad than with him floundering in the reserves. I don't understand why he's been discarded when equally under performing players have been moved out (Anderson) or played in big games (Cleverley). I read yesterday afternoon that of the last 7 games Cleverley has started (including last night) United have lost 6 and drawn one. At the end of the day we've scored one goal at Old Trafford this season against the top 6 clubs and that was from a corner but apparently going forward we are okay. Personally, as I said above, it's philosophy that has turned this club from Champions into laughing stock. The ageing squad hasn't helped but neither has our managers motivational public speaking. Realistically we aren't going to be able to move on every under performer and replace them in one Summer so if we want to stop the rot surely the philosophy has to change and that means Moyes and his team have to be asked to leave.
I was going to put MISS SAFFRON up last night but my recent poor form and crackers great run rather curtailed my enthusiasm. This horse has dropped to a ridiculous mark and the booking of Moloney looks ominous!
Quite a few things I have to disagree with I'm afraid...getting put out by Bayern won't mean it's been disastrous. They're the best team in the world at present. it's all the other results against smaller teams that means it's been a disastrous start for him. Moyes won't be fired imo..that would be like admitting fault for United..he'll have to go of his own accord I would think. As for bringing the old boys..no and no. Scholes and giggs...absolutely NO managerial experience...pointless giving them the job. Meulensteen/Phelan...just no..can't be having that at all. I can agree with some ex-players if he does move on which I don't see happening..maybe solskjaer, bruce, hughes(although he's shot himself in the foot many times and would never get the job). At the end of the day i feel we need a big, big name manager if Moyesy goes. Otherwise what's the point? Evra hasn't played well all season for me...doesn't look interested to me and him the captain! but sure why would he be when Moyes blatantly tried to sign TWO left backs! Not saying much in confidence for him! There were massive problems down the right last night...especially in the first 15 minutes...hence why Valencia was out warming up after 9 minutes...the problem...cleverly..simple as...he's not a right mid player. And honestly I hope nani never pulls on the shirt again. He is the most frustrating player to watch. can have a really good game - like against arsenal a few years back where he was unplayable - but then does nothing or months. He can't cross a ball to save himself...NEVER beats the first man from corners and majority of free kicks and loves a dive too like Young. And he was given a new 5 year contract !!! WHAT??!! Agreed we can't get rid of all the deadwood so to speak but we can shift enough to leave space to bring in new faces, top names, and show that there will be no repeat of this season. Seeing transfer news filled with reports of 30+ million bids for players I haven't heard of hardly doesn't fill me with much confidence but then again i'm getting older and probably not payingas much attention as I used to! yeah Nass sorry about the united talk...but when the wind gets up me I tend to blow eventually lol ! Onto the racing..today I'v taken both Sticks and crackers selection...haven't had a chance to look myself so witht he forum in such good form at present I'll back a few blind after the good weekend I had ! Also can't wait for Dubai world cup meeting to start! Anyone give me any details of Animal Kingdom and where it went from last year apart from Ascot? Can't seem to find any details...won me a small fortune last year ! #
They would drop to the Conference Cyc. The only team in the top 7 that we've managed to beat is Chesterfield ....................... Nass
May well be worth an rf stick miss safron would have been an ew choice if the odds were big enough , november 25f run put me off the win though the timing was not brill and miss safron is plus 10 on that run whereas my choice is down 5 on a 24f 2nd place run in a very good time
Dunno about Klopp, Bob, he really looks as though he has psycho problems sometimes. Goes completely bonkers, hardly ManU?
its pronounced "er" not "ah". We are off to Wembley Sunday for a day out, any QPR or Wycombe fans remember that feeling?
Decent market moves for about 5 of them in that 2.40 at Exeter but my few shillings ew will be thrown at one that appears completely friendless. Pasture Bay @ 66s at the bottom of the weights with a decent claimer on board too lessen the burden further. His recent form looks fairly ordinary but this has been over fences on soft ground. His hurdles form on better ground at around this trip should enable him to give me a run for my money. Good luck all wagering today.
Being a Spurs fan I sort of feel the same way about this season as Man Utd fans and you have my sympathies. My expectations of Spurs this year obviously didn't have them challenging for the title like Utd were supposed to be. However, having spent £100m+ during the Summer I was expecting a strong assault on the Champions League places and even predicted us to be third LMAO!! I know we sold Bale but Christ, one man surely doesn't make a team?! We spent money on some dross this year... £26m for Soldado?! £30m for Lamela?! There have been decent buys too in the shape of Eriksen and Chadli but to say this season is a disappointment is a huge understatement. I really did not and still do not like the appointment of Tim Sherwood. Perhaps after a few years experience, but he is wet behind the ears in management terms. I will echo the sentiment of others when calling for Fergie to return... Bring back Harry!!
