i think it'll suit sunderlands likely play. sunderland under poyet will play 4-3-3 with reverse wingers. if coutinho and henderson and gerrard can match up in midfield in his mind i fancy he will do it.

 

That's quite a #highdefensiveline but we should be ok so long as he drops to the six yard box when we lose possession and a defender fills in for him

 

its called a sweeper keeepr bod.

plays on edge of box when ball is in advanced locations and must move constantly with the ball so they are in line with center of own goal.

Jordan Henderson warns Liverpool FC team-mates not to underestimate struggling Sunderland


Jordan Henderson has warned his Liverpool team-mates they can’t afford to under-estimate his former club Sunderland at Anfield tonight.

Gus Poyet’s struggling Black Cats are three points adrift of safety but they have two games in hand and the midfielder insists they pose a threat to the Reds’ pursuit of the title.

A seventh successive league victory tonight would move Brendan Rodgers’ side to within a point of leaders Chelsea.

“Sunderland will make it very difficult for us coming to Anfield,” Henderson said.

“I know they got beat at Norwich on Saturday but they are still fighting for their lives

“We need to make sure we are back on it for Wednesday night.

“First and foremost, we need to concentrate on ourselves.

“We have got eight cup finals left.

“It doesn’t matter who it’s against – every game is massive.

“We need to treat every game like we’re playing Man City or Arsenal.”

Liverpool have plundered 82 league goals already this season and their attacking style has led to comparisons with the great Reds side of the late 80s.



Henderson is merely focused on trying to ensure the current crop write some history of their own and says last Saturday’s 6-3 triumph at Cardiff City showcased the spirit in Rodgers’ side.

“That was a great Liverpool team back then,” Henderson said.

“It’s totally different times but the club had fantastic players back then and fantastic players now.

“We always feel we have got goals in us. We want to keep the ball and dominate possession – I don’t think we will ever change.

“We made life difficult for ourselves at Cardiff.

“We didn’t start as well as we have been and we gave the ball away cheaply.

“But we stayed confident and just tried to move the ball a bit quicker.

“We knew if we kept it tight in the second half then with the players we have going forward we would get goals.

“We showed our quality in the end and we also showed character to come from behind to win – just like we did at Fulham. We just need to make sure we tighten up a bit at the back. We had been defending well with two clean sheets of late. If we’re solid at the back then we know we’ve got every chance.”

Honestly, I want to grind these f*ckers into the ground tonight. And I want something ridiculous like 5+ goals.

We've been on a good run but each team needs to be respected (not to be confused with feared).
Earn the right to play our style and if we do that, then we may get the right result.

Last season we battered West Brom and lost 2-0..
This season we underestimated Hull, Villa (H) and West Brom and we got a massive 2 pts from what should have been closer to 7.
