We lost 0-3 and played poorly in a game that will not affect our season.

Everton are flying, they have a 20m striker on loan that would get in every forward line in the league barring Man City and Liverpool.

Pardew said only yesterday that he knows there's a lot of work to do in the summer. He also said Mike is aware of this fact too. Our season may well fizzle out in the last seven games but show me a mid table team, in any league where this doesn't happen. You'd be hard pushed to find such a team.

Pardew is doing a steady enough job. It is slightly concerning that when we lose, we lose handsomely but we've not made a permanent signing in two years.

This summer will be a big one and it really will give the biggest indication of where Mike is at with regards to progressing the club. However, until the summer just enjoy our victories and don't get stressed about the defeats because they really do mean nothing. We're guaranteed 9th place at worst. In fact just expect a 9th place finish, anything higher is a bonus and see what the summer brings.

As for Pardew, he's here to stay. If he gets the signings he seems to think he'll get in the summer we can then begin to expect more from him. If he doesn't get the signings but continues to produce top half finishes then it's a job well done on his part.

Just enjoy the last seven games and look forward to an interesting finish at both ends of the table <ok>

I appreciate the sentiment except I cannot "enjoy" these woeful performances!

Given his age he'd cost the best part of 20m.

Not sure why he's not wanted by Mourinho, seems an odd decision.

The deal to Chelski at 18 was 12m rising to 17m so I reckon you'd be looking at a minimum of 17m for the lad. Quality, I assume Mourinho will put their differences aside and make use of him. Or sell him to buy Falcao.

I'd have Lukaku here any day. It would provide me with the opportunity to say his name in a really deep voice Vic Reeves style (ooofavvvvuuu) for comic effect ! You won't get it if you've never seen Shooting Stars but you could check this out:-

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DCCuOLqwZv8

On a more serious note though, you look at him compared to even Remy and he's different class nevermind comapring him to Luuk Ding Dong. I'm so pleased we never spunked a wad of cash on him a couple of seasons back based on what I've seen thus far...christ even Shane Long would have been a massive step up for us - the fact we didn't even try for him and he went to Hull ****s me off no-end and just simply smacks of any ambition on our part to move forward and improve our squad. Maybe Graham Carr has never seen him play so he can't even be considered an option.

Mike Ashley is gonna have to spend big in the summer otherwise we'll be lucky to survive next season I reckon. All of the other teams around us will strenghten and the top 4 will be even further out of sight pushing us ever closer to hovering around the relegation zone again with the only thing to look forward to being the faint glimmer of hope that we might get past the 3rd round of the FA Cup (unless we draw Brighton again) and put us on a bit of a cup run that will do nothing other than to paper over the cracks of piss poor league performances and give Pardew the perfect excuse to play fringe players and blame our expected exit (lets face it, it could be at any stage really) on the fact that our squad is ****e.

No other manager would put up with a blatant dis-regard for improvement and strenghtening and would walk straight out the door without so much as quick glimpse back at what they were leaving behind. I certainly wouldn't work for someone who wasn't prepared to invest in me as an employee and give me the tools to be able to develop myself and provide a better customer experience for my stakeholders.

A summertime show down could pan out something like this....if Pardew had a ****ing spine !

Pards - Mike... I need some cash for some new players.
    Mike - Why?
Pards - Cos Colo's left, Remy has ****ed off back to 'Appy 'Arry and the rest of our squad is ****ing ****e !
Mike - But we finished 9th last season !
    Pards - FAAAAAHK ME !
Mike - How much do you need ?
    Pards - £30m at least
Mike - How would you like to be out of a job tomorrow ?
Pards - How would you like to suck my balls ? **** this ****....I'm off !

I really hope Fat Mike see's the club for what it could be given a bit of investment which lets face it would just be a drop in the ocean for him. Sadly I think we will see the back of Colo, Santon, Tiote and HBA, Shola will be off and Remy and Ding Dong will return to their respective parent clubs leaving us royally ****ed !!

I can't wait for this season to end, but on the other hand it just means that the new season will be ever closer. Never mind, at least we've got the World Cup to look forward to, what's the betting that Graham Carr has got tickets for all of the France games? Good job Kinnear's gone....he'd come back and recommend we buy a certain Yohan Cabaye cos he looks mint !

Each of the remaining games will serve as a reminder that ae squad is woefully short of mid table standard.
The ONLY reason we are in mid table now is Remy (not ours and away) and CAbaye (now sold).

Well to be fair I've spent a fair few quid following the lads this season just like many others have. My point is, when certain of a mid table finish we're just as likely to get battered against Everton at home as we are to beat Liverpool away on the last day (see Norwich away at man City last season).

It's part of having nothing to play for, sometimes the lack of pressue benefits the team and other times it results in them failing to get up for the match.

We got smashed 0-3 and quite a few are calling for Pardew's head again and blaming Ashley etc. It is a little tiresome that after every defeat there are calls for a new manager and regime. I used to be one of them to be fair, but when you look at the facts Pardew is doing a steady job.

For all its been a stop start stop start season, we really should be happy with our league position. But, a couple of good signings and we could have been higher up and a lot happier.

Its almost as if the season has been split into four - pre season, the first fifteen games, the transfer window and the remainder of the season. We''ve had highs and lows, surprises and disappointments.

A bit of a what only? ah but season.

I think Mourinho does this deliberately, Lukaku at Everton makes them a more potent side who will then be more of a problem for the teams challenging at the top of the PL, he of course is not allowed to play against Chelsea, no surprise that Mata's move to Man Utd was delayed until Chelsea had played their 2 matches against them.

Value for money. I don't believe that Newcastle United fans are getting it currently.

This summer will be hilarious (in a twisted, ironic way) as once again we are all sat around waiting for news of the influx of new blood!

    Not going to happen.

Mike Ashley is perfectly happy with the way things are going - not relegation threatened, no Yewrope (so no call for a bigger squad) and the Barclays Premier League cash keeps flowing-in alongside the faithful Geordie public money.

He's laughing all the way to the bank <ok>

It's not looking good for De Jong but the jury should still be out on him. It doesn't mean he won't come good.

If we judged Colo, Enrique, Solano, Debuchy, Perch etc on their first 7 games and then got rid based on that we'd have missed out on a lot of cult heroes. He still has time to find his feet before the end of the season.

More worrying for me is M'biwa, the lad clearly isn't a full back so I do feel for him but after nearly a season and a half he's still looking a bit rough around the edges. I'd personally like to see him given the remainder of the season at CB and see how he gets on. We're not capable of carrying an 8.5m third choice CB in our ranks, that's a lot of money for us for someone who rarely get's a game, especially as when he does get a game it's rarely in his best position.

What makes me fcking gag is that people allow Pardew a 1-0 injury time victory over Crystal Palace and laud it as a good result. Someone above mentioned that after every defeat we're calling for Pardew's head - I don't believe this, I think that defeats like the Everton just bring back all the fcking awful memories a Pardew side has dished up, such as the recent Spurs debacle, or the Sunderland sham, or the Cardiff fck up. We suddenly remember that, actually, we got beaten by Fulham, the worst side in the league. I hate this Newcastle team, I hate the way it plays, I hate that it's so utterly reliant on individual brilliance, I hate the limited tactics, the constant bullsh!t from the manager (see the latest "Mike going to the game shows how much he supports me" sycophantic cr@p if you don't believe me). I hate my own club to a point now where I will pretty much see what happens up to 1st September, but if the same fcking cnt is in charge - Pardew - with more or less the same god-awful squad of players, I'll be jacking it in.

I've gradually had my love and enjoyment of football eroded so much by, in turn, Sky Sports, Roman Abramovic, the press/media and finally Qatar's money that it doesn't resemble a competitive sport anymore. But to have to sit through fcking rubbish spewed forth by Pardew every week is too much to take. I wouldn't care getting beaten by Everton if we put up a fcking fight. I'd happily like to say things like "at least Armstrong's getting a chance", but I can't - instead I have to watch the death of Ameobi laboriously carry on. I'd like to think we had an identity, show a way of playing, but we havent got a fcking clue. I mean, Pardew plays TWO strikers, right? If you look at their scoring records, most of their goals come from being in the box and on the end of crosses. Neither DingDong nor Sissy are fast enough to play on the shoulder (hence the offside gag with Sissy) nor do we have a midfield playing in the right way to befit a target man. The final nail in this attacking coffin is that whilst both might profit from crosses, we play with wide midfielders who neither like the byline nor like to cross the ball. It's a disgrace, it's so dreadfully predictable I just cannot see in what reality Pardew can keep his fcking job.

I'm not expecting CL football, nor even Europa League. But for fcks sake can't I at least have a team I can enjoy watching and at least be marginally proud of?????

Were you not proud when we beat Man Utd or Spurs away? Or the 2-0 against Chelsea at home? Or when we were a Ben Arfa miss away from knocking out Benfica and qualifying for a European Semi Final?

For all of this talk about Everton, Southampton etc neither of them have qualified for Europe in donkeys years. Everton have a very good manager but an ageing squad with three very good loan players that they'll be very lucky to sign permanently. Now don't get me wrong, they're doing very well this season but it's not quite as rosy as it appears.

Southampton have yet to have someone test the water for a Lallana, Shaw or Rodriguez in the same we we had clubs do with Carroll, Ba & Cabaye. I'm not saying they'll sell their best players but are you telling me a 30m bid from Chelsea for Lallana or Shaw won't at least get the lad thinking?

I'm not saying Pardew is a world beater, he's a mid table manager and we're a mid table club. If we spend money in the summer and brought in Cabella, Grenier, kept Remy and signed another full back and striker and we were still lurking in 8th/9th and receiving a thumping at home every 2 or 3 months then there would be questions to be asked. At present we don't have such options.

It's ok saying put Armstrong in and the other youngsters but look at Dummett, he's been roasted by most wingers he's come up against at this level and clearly isn't ready IMO. You can only play someone if/when they're good enough. Put Armstrong in too early and after a few poor games it'll affect his confidence and you can set the lad back 6 months.
