He said - "City are playing at the level we aspire to be at" Has to be the dumbest comment a United manager has ever said.
It was obvious Shreeves was trying to trip him up (there's a United hater if ever there was one). What you should have picked up on was the question he asked Moyes. "Was that the champions you were playing tonight." Moyes is naive, his answer should have been immediate "We're the champions." Instead he got phased and came out with that daft comment above. It's things like that about Moyes, which you have to face palm tbh.
No mate, that was Shreeves' question. There was only one answer to that question "No, WE are the champions!" With an added "Now fck off Geoff!"
May not the PR thing to say but it is the ****ing truth. City destroyed United and it was men against boys. A bit like Fergie's United playing away to one of the bottom teams. The absence of some players is no excuse. The players may have done a job for Fergie but at the moment they are simply not good enough.
I know how you feel. Hodgson era was a nightmare for us. You'll bounce back I'm sure. In the meantime I'm making hay whilst the sun shines! Expected surely? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Are you going to change your name when he finally gets SACKED? haha Seriously, Moyes lacks inspiration. He is a small time type guy. Low budget and gets on doing just alright and surviving. What a grace mistake the United board made in allowing Fergie to pick a fukin loser like Moyes. Text book greatest mistake ever made.
I'd rather Moyes reply like that than trot out a Wenger-like quote about how the players were perfect and together, and they were just unlucky to lose. We are not at the level where we would like to be, well short of it. The fans know that, the players know that and so does the manager. There's no point trying to con the fans that it's all wonderful like some managers do. Whether Moyes is the man to get the team back to that level is a different discussion, but the point is we need to improve and I'm glad the manager has the balls to say it.
I very much doubt he will be to be honest. They may look at it in January if we're struggling but I don't think he'll be gone in the summer and nor do I want him to be He's inherited a squad that was on the slide and I think he should be given the time to address it, He does however have to show that with the correct backing he can change his mentality as even if he threw 200m at him unless his approach changes he will never succeed.
I think Utd need a quality manager like Rodgers. Moyes is almost ruining Utd to the point where no ****er will want to take the job There's always Mick McCarthy or Billy Davies. Billy's a free agent at the moment so you better get in their quick.
