I am not sure if this has been posted but on a Sky Sports transfer clockwatch update it said we are 6/4 favourites to sign Berbatov.

There were also reports a few weeks ago that Man U only wanted £7.5m for him although I am sure he will be on massive wages.

Despite his high wages I still think he would be a class signing and would love it if we somehow managed to sign him, I do not give a **** what people say about his work rate because he was still joint top scorer last season even if Sir Ruddy Ferguson stopped playing him after half a season, plus I saw plenty of times on MOTD him coming back and helping out their defense.

If we can get him for £7.5m I think it will be worth it because apparently PSG are quoting £10m for Erdinc, so just say Berbatov wages were 30k higher than his, that would only be £1.5m a year more, so if Berbatov signed a 3 year deal his hypothetical wages would cost £4.5m more than Erdinc's (although Erdinc would probably get a 5 year contract so it could even be less) which would make Berbatov cost an extra £2m than Erdinc, but he is a better and proven striker.

He's said he'll stay at Man U, we've been favourites for ages but he isnt leaving this summer.

you're point about money doesn't really count as you'd have Erding for 2 extra season if all that was correct

once again I'd love him but seriously doubt it would happen and i'd be a bit iffy about the money

Unless Man U sign a striker or two they wouldn't let him go. They'd have Rooney & Hernandez for first choice, Wellbeck & Owen :)emoticon-0119-puke:) as back up and Macheda will probably be on loan. That'd leave the a bit light for fighting on four fronts. If they sign another striker it could be a signal that Berbatov may leave. I'd rather have Gomez though <whistle>

Yeah but you do not know how good Erdinc will be in the Premiership his goalscoring ratio even in France is not that impressive, while Berbatov has proven he can score goals regularly.

It'll be amazing if we could pull this off but I can't see it happening for a couple of simple reasons :

    1) Wage demands.
    2) Age.
    3) He isn't ''young with a resale value''.
    4) He isn't on a free & he isn't French.
    5) He can pass a medical. <whistle>

The only thing thats odds on is between now and the close of the transfer window is we are goona be linked to every Tom, Dick and Harry and certain people believe what they read and get carried away with it.

I think hes much more than that, he looked truly class at times last year and I would love to have him (guaranteed atleast 15 goals a year if we start him each game.)

I think we're deluding ourselves if we think that he'll be signing for us. Chicharito is untalented and overrated and I think it's only a matter of time before Alex starts licking Berba's boots again ...

He'd be much better off here if Manchester United are only going to use him occasionally.

To further fuel the dream a quote from good ol' wikipedia:

    It is going to happen.

This just wouldnt feel like a true Berbatov thread unless somebody posted that picture of him as a teenager holding his Berbatov 9 Newcastle shirt. It should be a requirement for all Berbatov threads this summer.

Would love him to come here, but i'm not sure it will happen. Pardew keeps going on about bringing 'flair' into the club and with Berbatov you would certainly get that in abundance.
