    No, terribly over rated due to everyone's second team at the world cup being Ghana. Scored 10 in 31 and Ba got 7 in 12...not impressive at all, too inconsistent he might score a screamer in one game then for 4 games might miss a few 5 yard sitters. Leave him with the inbreds down the road

    He's a good player, he's skillful and strong and is a decent finisher.

    But I would never want him playing for Newcastle. He'd cost too much money and neither Sunderland or Newcastle would sell a star player to the other these days.

    Reminds me of Martins, capable of brilliance but will then go missing in vital games.

    Agee with Ryan. Just like Martins, occasionally good, mostly ordinary, well well overpriced at £13m.

    He's a perfect example of a player who only performs for his country...14 goals in 47 at Rennes, 15 in 53 at Modena (2nd league Italy), 11 in 39 at Udinese. He's never been a prolific goal scorer at any club, and Sunderland were stupid to pay so much for him on the back of the World Cup

    The guy is a poor mans Oba Martins. Scores the screamers misses the more important sitters, we need some consistant to partner with Ba not another one of Bruces, failure <ok>

    With Best looking like he's on the way out (unfortunately) I'd say we could work out a deal with Sunderland. Gyan+£4m for Best...

    ...or just £3m for Best.
