Before you all start piling your hard-earned on Belgium, take note that no European nation has won the WC when it's been held in The Americas.
I didn't say it wasn't fact, it's well known. But it is meaningless at the end of the day. It's like when you get 'previous meetings' stats before a game, they mean nothing because most of those games were ages ago and the two sides are much different now.
having been to Belgium a few times i have already got myself a soft spot for them . As for as international football is concerned i dont feel an affinity with the England squad right now - OK now it is free from Beckham , Owen ,Rio ,Terry and Lampard (the premiership idols of 2002 and 2006) i may be able to get behind the lads in Brazil , but my god is our squad boring on paper and boring to look at . If all we have to coo over is Andros Townsend the OX/Gibbs/Walcott and the lads at Southampton then lets not expect much flair to get us out of the group.
TBH if Ireland were playing all our lads I'd probably want them to beat England. Brady/Meyler/Long/Macca/Quinny seem like top lads and I feel a much bigger connection to them than the undertalented prima donnas representing England
Belgium look to have a good chance, the only thing is that I think no European team has won the world cup in South America, so it will be a tough ask.
I've said it before. We need a Belgian, we're established premier league now, its the only thing we lack. Frank Moussa at Cov, said him before.
I say something similar but about Holland. I know we had vinegar off of Hessle road but would have loved Dirk Kuyt at City.
Not sure I can agree with Chazzy. Been to Holland many many times, most of it to watch football tournaments. I love the Dutch. Only place I'd consider living apart from here. Pity we don't have better footballing links at a bigger level than kids football.
