having just watched Match of the Day,all the pundits think that we are doomed! How wrong can they be?We have games in hand on all our rivals, and have some very winnable home games to come.Yes,we aren't scoring a lot of goals, but we are competing strongly in all our games.Today was a disaster, but we must move on...Norwich won a home game..big deal!!We have now got to win our home games, any away points would be a bonus, but survival is in our hands....let's prove the pundits wrong...especially Shearer!
Every pundit has U turned more times than enough. Boring predictable jobsworths, I can look at the table and say "Oh I think it will be Fulham Cardiff and Sunderland" But i don't because a ****ing ****** can do it.
They're idiots mate, they all had us to stay up start of February, **** lips who does the predictions has stated repeatedly that he thinks we'll stay up yet has us on 15 points virtually mathematically down. No doubt he's U turned and as well.
That bit right there Bri ^. That`s the crux. We win a couple of games? U turn time again. Accept it mate. It`s what they do.
Games in hand are only the same as IOUs - not worth diddly unless they produce what they promise. The final apart, we just have done nothing to show that we can even get a draw never mind a win. The team and us need a lift but I cannot see where it looks likely to come from based on the past 3 games.
On current form it would be hard to argue with them and I'm as optimistic as they come. Personally I don't agree but it is hard to see where the goals are going to come from and as for the games in hand, one of them is Liverpool away FFS. We couldn't beat a **** Palace and a **** Norwich, how do you expect us to beat Liverpool at there end? is Borini eligible to play that game anyway?
agreed, agreed and Borini can't play. parking the Gus bus on wednesday. the other away game in hand being city away, then west brom at home. cup final aside, we have been **** in every other game since beating the Mags. Our current form is very worrying as we look uninterested and inept. Gus had his work cut out to lift this lot.
I just looked at your fixture list. You're so ****ed. Crystal Palace and Norwich were the must win games that you had to keep you up. West Ham, WBA and Swansea will just park the bus at your place. As long as they draw they're fine. You're not going to get more than 35 points, ever.
I was at the game yesterday & although I'm delighted we won I said to my sons I'd have expected more from Sunderland with so much ridding on it. Goals do look like a problem coming, but I also think the discipline will play a factor the cards are leading to GP having to adjust his line up so often due to suspensions. I hope for your sakes yesterday was a blip as I'd like to see you guys stay up(hate bloody Palace & Pulis) but it doesn't help going to Liverpool next when confidence is low.
Palace have a history of shut outs under Pulis so your nil-nil with them wasn't a big surprise. Our home form is brilliant for a bottom half side so again not a shock result.I think the problem for Sunderland is that you now have to do it against a top side or two.I hope you can but ultimately it may be those 5 PDC games that do for you.If he had averaged the same as Poyet has then you would be on 29 points with games in hand.
Its been such a strange season anything can still happen, 2 defeats and West Ham are back in the mix when a couple of weeks ago everyone had them safe. Lets face it, the BBC have always pretty much hated us or have a strong dislike and have wanted us down since we sacked Mr MoN who they loved. Out of our 25 points, 18 have come from teams in top half of league, and 7 from the lower part. Arsenal away aside ( 1 eye on the cup) we do tend to play a lot better against the better sides as it suits our game more. For a few seasons now we have not had the players or ingenuity to break the opposition of the lesser teams especially once we go behind. We have 6 out of the top 7 teams to play where know one will give us a chance, Knowing and supporting Sunderland for over 30 years it would be just like us to go and win a couple of "unwinnable" games (in the cup final we were the better side in my opinion). We have never done things the easy way, look at last season we won the 2 games know one expected us too and lost/drew against the teams we "expected" to win comfortably. If we stay up or go down I'll still support the team I love, and its be one roller coaster of a season, and that's why I love football and why I'll always support Sunderland
Ffs, I'm sick to death of hearing this ****e.. You mean like Villa, Hull and Palace? It's our home form and the start of the season, coupled together, which is what's going to send us down.
competing strongly ? norwich won a home a big deal of course it is as we cant can we ,so it is a big deal,if you watching mod fooled you into thinking we competed you are wrong it was one way traffic from the start .
Look back through my posts. I'm always optimistic. But u think we're down. Gutted but u just don't know where our next 3 points are coming from. Normally I can see a positive but at the moment I.can't. I'll be happy if we keep them down to 5 on Wednesday!!
