Didn't see it but apparently the referee has sent off the wrong man in the Chelsea game, this despite Ox Chamberlain informing he got the wrong man and owning up he still sent Gibbs off. Seriously, referee's are out of control in this league, pig ignorant twats. A very important game as well, sort it FA, we're becoming a laughing stock of a league. Refs running a mock left right and centre. And who is the man who's ****ed up so monumentally? Yep, it's Andre Marriner
Bad mistake, but they can happen. However the referee or 4th official should have been allowed to check the replay for the correct identity once doubt was raised by all of the players. Obviously Gibbs will not be banned, but I wonder if the FA can now ban the Ox (as well as the referee of course - just a shame it wasn't Kevin Friend)
BBC Radio 5 live Confusion confusion... John Southall, 5 live reporter, at Stamford Bridge: "One of our colleagues from television has been in at half-time and spoken to referee Andre Marriner, and he has admitted that he made a mistake and sent the wrong player off - Kieran Gibbs instead of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. "Originally we thought the linesman may have guided him and told him that it was Gibbs, but Marriner has cleared it up - he says it was his mistake, he got the wrong player and sent him off."
need to see match of the tonight. The shot was going wide but referee Andre Marriner has shown a red card - to the wrong player! Kieran Gibbs goes off, it should be Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain... reads like it shouldn't have been a sending for anyone.
