http://www.getwestlondon.co.uk/spor...ews/qpr-priced-out-keeping-70k-a-week-6860933 Rangers boss Harry Redknapp insists they could not afford to keep Loic Remy in the Championship. The £8million striker was loaned out to Newcastle at the beginning of the season, and Harry is at pains to point out had he been able to keep some of the relegated Premier League squad, Rs would be skating the second tier right now, rather than almost certainly having to depend on the play-offs for promotion. âHalf of the squad had to go out on loan because they were on too much money,â he said. âDo you think we would be up there if Remy was still here? âWhere do you think weâd have been if we could have kept hold of him? But we couldnât â he was earning too much money, and we had to build a new team. â(Manager) Nigel (Pearson) has built a team at Leicester over the last three years.â QPR expect eight players out for the trip to Middlesbrough tomorrow with the manager calculating bar a miracle Leicester and Burnley had nailed down the automatic promotion spots, with four from the next six contesting the play-offs. He added: âReading and Brighton outside the top six are looking good.â
Of course we could but the fact is Remy didn't want to play for Redknapp. Maiga 15k, Doyle must be on at least 10k, add in the other players nowhere near the team and we've Spunked more than Remy's wages on no hopers.
Jenas + SWP = Remy. He's really not on that much in the scheme of things. Nice try Harry #excusemonger
If we go up, who will be our 20 goal man? Remy could be. I can't see us getting a 20 goal premiership striker for much less than Remy's wages.
Bang on 'Billionth' .................. as 'History Repeating' said, SWP and Jenas = Remy. I've been in Harrys' corner from day one but some of his decisions and comments don't really add up. Very disappointed of late.
We have more chance of getting our take over approved than you going up. You can't keep ignoring ffp it will bite you on the arse. Harry the conman hasn't got much right at ur place, but this time he is bang on. You don't need a 20 goal a season premiership quality striker, you ain't getting there. Whether or not he got a cut of any deal only time will tell?
