Maybe its the name? City is too common. Now, if we changed our name to be something like Hull Tigers for the sake of argument, Woy is much more likely to take notice.

I think I will suggest it to our owners. Does anyone know who they are and how to get in touch with them?

Anyone who thinks Huddlestone 'has been our outstanding indivudual' is just as bad as what the exact issue that article is criticising ie name over actual performance.

Davies will win every poll this season by a ****ing mile and quite rightly.

Unless of course, the owners threaten to walk if Huddlestone doesn't win.

Huddlestone blows hot and cold, he was outstanding against Fulham, since then his form has dipped, he'll always be a brilliant player though. Davies has been consistently brilliant this season, he's been solid as a rock and should have been in the England squad months ago. I just find it bizarre that Smalling and even Caulker get picked ahead of him.

Echo's of the past again here, it was always said that neither Chilton or Wagstaff got an England call up or any recognition even though they were prolific goalscorers at the time because they played for Hull City who were not in the 1st division. Although I think Chilton was picked for an Englang 11 in some friendly but not the fully fledged England team and I am also aware that at the time England had some first rate players to pick from. The likes of Charlton, Peters, Hurst, Bell, Lee, Somerbee, the list goes on, but even so no one was scoring more goals than Chillo or Waggy.

I do agree that Davies does deserve it more than Huddlestone and without any doubt should be going. The thing that would make Huddlestone a very important asset to have in Brazil, as Bruce has said, it's going to be horrendous conditions, you need players who can sit there and keep the ball, making it do the work rather than them. As much as I have been impressed with Henderson this season, he's been fantastic, his style of play would not be suited to those conditions. He runs all day long but you won't be able to do that out there, I expect Spain to go win it again because of their ball retention, I don't think Brazil have enough.

Mat LeTissier made the point the other week that a player in a struggling side, yet still scoring goals has shown themselves more able than a benchwarmer in a higher placed team.

I agree with him, there's some **** in that England squad and better players getting nowhere near it. Woy should look at form players going into the World Cup not the same bunch of underachievers that he picks everytime.

    Hart
    Johnson Smalling Jones Cole
    Cleverley Gerrard
    Townsend Wilshere Young
    Rooney

We'd all be happy with that I assume? I'd be chuffed to bits.

100% spot on ^^^^^ agreed this. The more i think about it the more i would prefer our lads to put there feet up and enjoy a long summer off. England are going to be a train wreck in Brazil. Worse than the Ashes cricket team imo.

Woy is an FA yes man John. England have not had a decent manager since Terry Venables in Euro 96. We have gone from one extreme to another and overspent massively on failure. Cappello was the answer we were told and yet.......

They play for ,Man Utd. If not they would not be anywhere near the England squad. Not good enough.

Ramsey made bold decisions actually which paid off. Geoff Hurst in for the golden boy Jimmy Greaves. My only gripe with Ramsey was when he thought England were home and dry when 2-0 up against West Germany in Mexico 1970 and took Bobby Charlton off. The rest is now history sadly for us.

The FA only want yes men who then can control. Brian Clough - Terry Venables(for longer than he was in charge) and Harry Rednapp should have been England managers without a doubt.

I agree BigFat. If Woy takes the squad he looks like taking then England will do well to beat Costa Rica in the final group game before they come home. Italy and Uruguay will qualify from out group. Woy is clueless.

Agreed. ^^^^ this. Our best defender is John Terry by far who retired thanks to the FA. David Bernstein made my blood boil. 2nd best is Gary Cahill.

Over the season CURTIS DAVIES has been England's next best defender (centre half position) and should go along with Jagielka as the 3 centre backs. Phil Jones can play 4 positions SO MUST GO for that reason alone.

Chris Smalling should forget about being an International at all.

Only if you have been on the crystel meth. But glad you like it Old Hat.

Friendlies are about giving youngsters and players with no international-experience a taste of the global game.

Tournaments are for experienced players and those who are in-form for their clubs.

Davies deserves a crack in our next friendly. He shouldn't be good enough for England, and we all know that, but the facts show that he currently is.

It's good sense apart from Huddlestone's come off the boil a bit lately. I'd definitely take him ahead of Cleverley though.

Davies deserves a place in that squad, especially above Steven Caulker. Davies is as good, if not better, than Jagielka on current form IMHO.
