Is it a coincidence that they have the " silent majority " headline! Then the readers letters are taken up by two pro-name changers?
It is interesting that at 19:04 the silent (vast) majority do not stand up and join in with the chant. If this is reflected in the pass holders vote then the A's are onto a sure fire winner!
Some people are just silent! It proves this with the atmosphere sometimes, but it doesn't mean all the ones that don't stand up at 19.04 are pro name change! ( hopefully )
Despite the valiant efforts of CTWD I fear our silent majority are still sleepwalking towards nationwide ridicule which will surely come with changing to Hull Tigers.
The Majority of fans in my opinion are not that. Bothered about the name change ... Imo* However I am postive the huge majority would rather we stayed HULL CITY. I will vote NO I really think the no vote will win by a landslide. Iv yet to meet anyone who wants the name change ...
Im not so sure i think that a lot of fans will want to stay as Hull City but at the same time from the blokes at work there is quite a few who are totally sick of it and are saying as long as Hull is in the name they would accept it so for me i think it may be a little closer than many on here think but thats only my opinion 65% keep the name 35% change. I will be along with many others ------- glad when its all over and i would imagine Steve Bruce will be sick to death of it
It's a load of bollocks. The result is irrelevant. The business case for the name change is why the FA and other consultees rejected it. A few thousand 'hooligans' one way or another making an X on a form won't improve that. In the same way you can't just demolish your house or add 300 extra floors to it without permission, sometimes you just have to conform for the good of the rest of society. Mr Allams, you tried, but it didn't fit with the requirements the rest of football meet. MOVE ON. Have some dignity ffs, right now your staff have more important things to be doing.
How are the votes made/collected? If it is fair/simple poll I think the vast majority will vote no. If pass holders don't bother to vote I think the Allams will claim that they are not concerned about the name change. So please take time and vote.
Can someone explain what the significance of this poll is? Is it so the Doc can go back to the F.A. next year and lodge another request for name change? Or is it the threat of leaving if the poll goes against him? As far as I can see, the result won't affect the F.A. decision anyway on the grounds that the request has been rejected on commercial grounds.
This is about a vote of confidence in the Allams rather than for the name change. Their return meeting to the FA (for some reason they be heard again) is before the vote will be completed.
It will be about whether we support their right to do what they want with their club to make it a success. The name change will not be mentioned. I just CANNOT understand anyone who is happy with the name change or the way it has been done. Some supporters will give in to blackmail and scaremongering and I am sure some will not care so might tick the yes box. I do hope that the people against the name change will all vote. Did anyone else notice in the article it said season pass holders would get an opportunity to vote "at the KC Stadium". Does that mean we have to go and vote in person? I will see how it is worded but if it is anything other then a straight yes or not to the name change its flawed. Even though I have don't mind the Allam's staying I could not say that I am fully confident in them so would have to vote no to name change and owership. I would also contact the FA and tell them of the flawed vote and advise them of my feelings.
I don't disagree with what you're saying, but the vote won't give them that right as it's the FA deciding that, based on the Allam's presentation.
We all remember AA saying no one can question his judgement! But all of a sudden he wants to know our opinion on the name change! Before he makes his next move.
Let them have their blackmail ballot. I am not a silent majority, his words not mine btw, but if I was I would see through this and not bother voting. If the silent majority don't bother voting then it will then be a straight vote (if the wording is yes, or no) between those against and those for. But what everyone should understand is that this is the last throw of the dice for Allam. It is an irrelevant vote and he is threatening the supporters yet again. Vote for me or I go. Blackmail at its best once again Im afraid.
I know a lot of City fans. Family, friends, colleagues, etc. I reckon the split is around 90% against the name change. Whereas CTWD have been a vociferous opponent, there are many many more against the name change that simply do not register their opinion either at the KC, via the protest group, online etc. This is the silent majority. AA thinks because they are silent they are happy to accept a name change whereas the opposite is true. The silent majority ARE ALSO AGAINST the change.
One assumes that an independent body will be doing the counting. I am sure that a poll win for the A's will allow them to save face and despite losing out on the change of name, give them a mandate to continue as owners. I think it will be a lot closer than some on here think...
CTWD will be making an announcement about the nature of the vote shortly(once the bloke who's writing it has finished his lunch).
I suspect that this will not be a simple: Hull Tigers, For or against, I suspect it will be worded in the Allam's favour and maybe it should be a multi-question vote, which is what fans against the name change wanted from the start. If I am asked to vote in favour of Hull Tigers, I will vote NO. If I am asked if I want the Allams to leave, I will also vote NO. However, The two questions are inextricably linked. If they really want to know what the supporters think, It MUST be a multi question Ballot, If there is such a thing.
