Used to think that the posters on the HDM were spouting a lot of tosh, found 606 and so migrated to here. Beginining to think it may be the other way around now. Some of the posters on there are writing stuff that is well reasoned and makes a lot of sense. On these boards we seem to be deteriorating and are becoming fixated with the name change issue. With most posters here being vehemently against the change-regardless of the consequences. Whilst most on the HDM seem to wish the good times to continue-best team, best manager, prospects of a Cup Final-and just for the sake of tradition are not prepared to give that up. I for one support them. And I suspect if you poll the silent majority then the majority wihilst saying to themselves "always City to me" will go along with the name change to maintain our best team ever, our best manager ever, our chance of a Cup Final and a chance of Europe. I know if he takes the time to respond that OLM will come back and say that non of this depends on a name change, and so it does not but future investment to make sure that it continues may well doi! Be carefull what you wish for you CTWD crowd. It all may come true.
I wholeheartedly agree. johnop3 | March 18 2014, 10:59AM CTWD watch this space.Within a few day`s they will be an anouncment that the club is up for sale and the Players and manager leaving. Don`t assume any decisions will be made after Wembly or end of season.Well done CTWD what your gona sing when there`s no Hull Tigers. You have got what you deserve you mindless fool`s. I for one will be laughing in your face as will the football world. johnop3 | March 18 2014, 11:12AM haven`t seen any CTWD Cretins answer the question below- Can the nut job`s of CTWD answer this simple question - Hull Tigers or no club. You cretins are destroying the best time in the clubs history.
Another one buying the future investment bollocks No company would only sponsor us if we were called Tigers and the negative reaction to the possible change from the mainstream media will only have cemented this. But that's irrelevant really as Allam is doing this due to his spat with the council.
Sorry but here in Hull the name change is quite a big issue. So yeah we're going to be a bit fixated on it. Only a complete ****ing mong would seriously think that changing our name will make money. Posting that you believe it is just embarrassing
The HDM forum is littered with eggchasers who ridicule everything we do. If they sense something is unpopular with City fans they will infest the forum with posts saying just the opposite. Same goes for the majority of texters to sportstalk. When will you all realise there are many people out there who's worst nightmare is a successful football club in this city ?
You know what.. our latest trip to Wembley may well have helped save the name.. Most times we're on TV, the commentators mention the 19.04 chant, they're all in on the act now.. won't be popping that bubbly till it's official tho..
They're currently funding children in academy schools in Hull at age 11 for more swimming lessons. It all makes sense now! getting one foot on the door to the city aren't they
Thanks for those kind words. However, you did not read my post. I did not say that changing the name will bring investment just that there is a good chance there will be no more investment if Allam (at least from him) does not get his way in changing the name to the Hull Tigers. So you might want to read my post again. Just so that you can pick up on the main points. Best Team, Best Manager, chance of a Cup Final Place with Europe on the horizon, most generous owners ever-maybe gone for good all because of tradition, not right now, but later when Mr Allam pulls the plug on further investment. Its really hard to get someone to come up with 70m for a football team that has seen a paucity of success over the years. We are not Man U or Man City or one of the glamor clubs. It takes someone like Mr Allam who had a local connection to make an investment. Thats unless CTWD have got some cash.
Is AA really just trying to take pressure of the team to help them concentrate on staying in prem, and at the same time getting publicity for the club. Remember the old adage all publicity is good publicity.
