Dubs beat Kerry by one point and Paul Galvin retired.

Derry and Tyrone drew at Celtic Park.

    Kildare 2-19 - 2-18 Mayo
    Cork 0-18 - 0-10 Westmeath
    Dublin 2-08 - 1-10 Kerry
    Derry 1-15 - 2-12 Tyrone
    Meath 3-18 - 4-11 Galway
    Louth 0-16 - 1-13 Armagh
    Laois 1-09 - 2-19 Donegal
    Down 1-11 - 0-14 Monaghan
    Cavan 1-12 - 0-11 Fermanagh
    Sligo 0-15 - 0-13 Limerick
    Longford 0-10 - 0-13 Roscommon
    Wexford 1-14 - 0-12 Offaly
    Waterford 1-09 - 3-10 Clare
    Leitrim 1-11 - 1-06 Antrim
    Carlow 1-08 - 2-24 Tipperary
    Wicklow 3-13 - 1-08 London

Just watched the highlights of Kerry and Dublin. Kerry without the Crokes contingent.

    Really good game.

Saw the Cork game earlier and we were quite stunted really. Good in patches. Only in the second half. Too many wides.

The Mayo Vs Kildare game was decent. One of the black cards was harsh. Imo. The last minute winner was great.

Derry Vs Tyrone was exciting... But I don't think great quality.

One thing I've seen is a lot of direct football...... I like that.

The standard was very good for the first round, some cracking games but I think the performance of the weekend was from Meath who I believe scored 3-18 from play. I think Meath could shock a few people this year in the champ.

Kerry in a spot of bother. Mind you, they were in the same predicament last year.

A whole lot of jockeying for position going on. I'm not sure what to make of it tbh.

Cork are well up on Derry at HT. Derry scoring a goal just before the break to put a big of gloss on. Derry have been a 2nd half team so far this year, so let's see what they've got. That's part of a double header at Pairc ui Rinn. Walsh and Cadogan have gone with the hurlerrs today.

Kerry Vs Tyrone is the telly offering on tg4 this afternoon.

Some mighty fine scores in this game. Lovely frees for each side. Bryan Sheehan with one lovely one.
A great score from Peter Harte too.

Kerry lead 5 points to 2 early on.

James O'Donoghue hat trick I think for Kerry as Tyrone fall apart. 3-15 to 0-9. No score for Tyrone since the first minute of the second half. Absolutely pumped.

Two of the three Derry goals were highly fortuitous but they were well worked. The Dubs are up here next week and I reckon they'll give them a fair contest.

The black card rule seems to have opened up the game a fair bit. I don't think I have ever seen a game with as many goal chances as the Dublin v Kildare game, both teams could have had 5-6 goals easily.

No, it's great. Much better than it was 12 months ago. I don't think it is likely that a team from division 2 can win Sam but it's a tough breeding ground for the championship and a great place to build from. Much ,much more than last year.
