I like it too, there's no rush to change it and it involves a lot more than people think.

I think our current one is just fine and should stay for at least 15 years.

I’m sure that I’m not the only one who’ll be a little disappointed at this news (I remember the late Brix absolutely hated the current crest), but I guess it’s not the most important issue facing the club right now. I would suggest that it would make sense to launch a new crest at the same time as we move into a new stadium.

The only thing which worries me slightly is that Tony has, at least partly, gone back on his word on this. He has always been adamant that the change of crest would be rolled out by the new kit supplier, and that’s not going to happen now. Does it make anyone question whether he actually going to follow through with his other promises, or is that too cynical??

    …I’m just asking :bandit:

In what way has he gone back on his word? He said it has been put on hold, not cancelled. The decision will have been taken within the talks with Nike, the kit deal being more important then rushing through a design change.

It will change 100% certain of that.

TF hasn't changed his mind as Flyers said there is a lot that is involved with a brand change and also now a sponsorship contract.... certain Nike will have to tweak it

The media release clearly states a crest that the fans can be proud of ... that isn't the case at the moment .. it's dreadful and the design had not thought whatsoever applied to it

I submitted my hobby effort and like it or hate it ... it will still work and out live any contract

I don't like the crest much - too fussy. But I agree with you, there are more important matters to sort out

In so far that he said "'we will have some fantastic kit, with a new kit sponsor and at that stage I assure you, we will have a new badge". This is now on hold until further notice.

Not making a big deal about it, just saying.

Great news, I think the current one is absolutely fine. It incorporates past badges with a contemporary twist. It looks like a professional crest for the current day, as opposed to some of the others.

A cynic might see this as another way to sell more shirts when releasing Nike shirt no2 for the season after next...

I think our current crest is the best one we've ever had. Unfortunately according to the statement it is going to be changed at some point.

These things are like clothes, music etc. Its all just a matter of taste. There'll never be a crest that everyone likes.
