From you guys I would take Flanagan, Henderson and Sturridge to replace Smalling at RB, Cleverley and Young

That' interesting. He seems to be splitting fans on here (judging by the thread about him and a few comments on there) so good to hear an opposition view on him.

None of the United chumps would get near the Liverpool team and that's my 100% honest opinion, I would not even consider any of them. I would say that Rooney with right manager could get in most prem teams but I would never drop Sturridge or Suarez for him.

If you ignore that any of them are playing for United, think most of us would take Mata. We all said he'd be a good purchase in the winter and we'd probably play him in the right position, in that number 10 role just at the top of the diamond. Him and Coutinho could rotate.

If I then had to pick 2 more, 1 would probably be Jones. Mainly for his versatility and the fact he's still young and working under Rodgers he'd be able to improve his passing and touch. The 3rd person... probably Janujaz as he is a talent.

Starting to have my doubts about Mata, I couldn't see why Mourinho wouldn't play him but his work rate is terrible and I don't think I'd want a player like that in the team. Look at the work Sterling put in yesterday, Fellani got robbed by him on many occasions and muscled off the ball by him at times, would Mata have done that?

I'd take Rooney if his wages were halved. He is still a good player, if overrated.

He was uniteds best player by far. De Gea seems decent too. Didn't think much of him when he first started appearing for United but he has improved a lot.

Janujizz is promising, if a little jaded looking yesterday.

Mata should be doing better! I rate him but having a bad season.

RVP is not looking anywhere near his best anymore. He did get in the box at one point, back to goal but with time a-plenty to turn and score; he took for ever to turn and take a shot. I was watching him cringing thinking he would turn and rifle it in...

... it took him twice as long as SOS would have taken... opportunity lost. Any decent striker would have used that opportunity.

  10. He is certainly showing the difference between the fans with eyes (who think he's good) and the ones without (bad) <ok>

  11. Anyone claiming Migs is better than De Gea is just being biased towards Liverpool. There is no comparison and that's coming from someone that rates Migs too.

Interesting that a lot on here would have preferred Reina to Migs yet choose Migs over De Gea despite it looking like De Gea will be taking Reina's Spanish squad place. #twistedtriangle

    Not entirely fair

Even with our dodgy defence Mignolet is rated higher

De Gea made a world class save yesterday but Mignolet has pulled out his fair share too

    I prefer Mignolet to Reina

  13. Mweh, stats are just numbers. Man Utd's defence isn't much different to ours, both are ****. I prefer to use my eyes and given the choice ignoring all alliances, I'd have De Gea! Rated him highly before he joined Man Utd, said he would eventually become a world class (a term I rarely use) keeper given time and he's proving that to be the case. He's not there yet but he is getting there.

De gea is indeed on and frnakly the only two that really worked were rooney and mata however i just feel the only other player i'd take is janusaj as mata is too slow and rooney is a **** and ruined by money and whores

De Gea will be world class IMO. All he needs to do is beef up a bit to develop some physical presence and command the box. His reaction, agility, speed and passing are top notch.

One keeper I would like is Courtois <ok>

<yikes> Im not claiming Migs is an outstanding goalkeeper or anything but neither is De Gea under any stretch of the imagination. How many does he throw in his own net every season? I actually think they are quite close but Mingolet has more experience so I would keep him over De Gea.

I would only take Januzaj and have him at CAM competing with Coutinho.

  18. Simply put, one of them will be world class.

Well since everyone likes to be "fair" in their comparisons of team experience then what about this; GKs first season each for current team.

Do you prefer Mignolet in his first season for Liverpool or De Gea in his first season for Man Utd where he was throwing the ball into his own net for every long range shot and had to be rescued by Lindegaard for half the season? <whistle>

Oh wait, that was this season, it has Moyes in it... <whistle>

Erm... 2 examples of Mig being poor this season.
