Just watched the race and not read anything on here Disappointed about Hamilton and Ricciardo Happy for Rosberg but upset it was so easy Good recovery from Bottas, but was a silly mistake Ferrari seem to be designing a car from the book of Alonso. Slow and steady but getting the result! Gutted not enough cars retired for Chilton to score Back to holiday time!
Interesting statistic. Twice in 2 races has an Australian fallen over on the podium
If the world cup can get away with it so can F1 IMO, this kind of publicity like Multi 21 increases popularity and sponsor clicks. Apart from the loss of 2nd place Red Bull and their sponsors are loving this going global, eventually the public will back him like Lewis did when he got screwed over at Spa. Daniel will have have something magical in his hands with regards to the viewing public, sympathy.
Maybe Mercedes will swap Red Bull the engine in a straight swap for Adrian Newey....lol you take my engine which is the best..I take Newey who is the best...best for best? Lol
I'd like to think so, but I doubt it. They're probably thinking it was unlucky but worth a try. They might be annoyed that the FIA is being so petty. If they've been given a bollocking they might be feeling pissed off because all they were trying to do was help give the team an advantage. They might be feeling lots of things, but I think guilt over Ricciardo's heartbreak is probably low on that list. And that makes me depressed. But not as depressed as Ricciardo.
If you're trying to give your team an advantage by breaking the rules, you're not giving your team an advantage at all. However small the breach, the FIA have to enforce the regulations, otherwise what's the point having them?
The rules are the rules and if you operate outside them the punishment is just. They may claim Force Majeure but ultimately if they were advised during the race then I find it difficult to see how they can contest it? They chose to run a mapping and Ric was quick.
this has been the 2nd most posted on race thread on the forum behind last years opening grand prix thread. Keep it up
Brundles comments after the first GP: "This will normalise now over the next few races but the pace of the Mercedes, which I suspect was below their potential anyway, indicates a dominance even Red Bull didn't often enjoy." Been pretty much thinking that up until the first test session and I've never seen a car that fast at Red Bull do a fastest lap with 3/4 left of fuel and still let it go unbeaten...
Exactly. Especially for teams (possibly all of them) that have the attitude "there is no such thing as the spirit of the law, there is only the letter of the law", and then they try to circumvent even the letter of the law. There are regulations and when they are broken the people breaking them should be punished. I wish it would happen more often and more severely.
