At 0-0 with ten men they would of been far more open, but we never had the opportunity to take advantage of that due to their goal, so can't disagree. I agree with Chazz Zabaleta was a class act. However him having a go at Boyd for diving when there where two clears dives from him was the definition of irony.
The ball was far to often behind players, for no apparent reason. However compared to most games the movement was lacking until Boyd come on, it was the first time we really got beyond their defence when he came on. Front two didn't make enough runs for me, which is strange considering how many they have made since coming to us.
Agreed. It lets down the whole profession now, they all do it sadly. That shot he had? Did Mac touch it on to the bar?
If a player has time on the ball and there's a player in space we still tend to play to a man who's marked and has to play it back and the opening is closed!
didnt see owt in Elmo's challenge on Silva but reading round the papers seems it was a bit of a shocker. anyone else have a good view??
Not a shocker, but clumsy at the very least. His boot was at a bad angle, but at least he wasn't diving or sliding in.
It was pedestrian. It infuriated me today, more than I can remember for a long time. Do they practice playing attacking football, at all? It was garbage today, very poor. Apart from Silva, Man City weren't a great side. Our lethargic, pedestrian and lazy style gave them the impetus.
You've seen them given - but probably incorrectly. Now, Ramires - THAT was a red-card studs-first job!
For once the Match of the Day analysis was spot on, Silva was world-class and Huddlestone was unfortunately exposed against the better more mobile kind of players he would be up against in the World Cup. I'm not saying Cleverley should go ahead of him but even so.
Was a game that i think koren might have excelled at. If he'd have come on instead of aluko it may have been exciting
I thought that about Koren, he can slide balls through further up the pitch rather than Thudd hitting 40 yard passes to the wings or short one twos on the halfway line.
Elmo's wasn't a red. He turned to tackle him so wasn't diving in, put his foot up to try and win the ball but was half a second late so Silva swung his non-standing leg into where Elmo's boot was. He was not out of control and it wasn't dangerous as it is only really a standing leg that can be damaged in a tackle.
