Never one to shy away from moaning, Jose Mourinho has claimed that English clubs' chances in Europe would be boosted by having the option of playing on Friday nights.

"If we played on Friday night, it makes a difference to who? It'd be a full house, the same," said Mourinho.
"If it was the only match on TV, the (audience) share would be fantastic."
"Would it be good for Chelsea? Yes. Would it be good for English football? Yes."
In order to sound like he wasn't just talking about himself, he added:
"I really don't understand why City play Saturday. And I'm speaking against me: I would prefer them to play on Friday, if possible.
"I'm trying to get this for all of us, not just me. I don't understand why a team that comes from Europe, playing on Wednesday, must play at 12:45 on Saturday.
"Why don't City play at 17:30 and we play at 12:45?"

Does he have a point and would you like to see a games played on Friday night?
I personally think that the scheduling of some of these games could do with being altered, but that Friday's should be out of the question.
We've got games spread across every other day of the week already. We don't need another overload of Premier League football.

Back in the 90's certainly, there used to be a championship (division 1) game on, every week on sky.
Although it's still on now every now and again, it's a shame that it's not so frequent as it was enjoyable watching a slightly different style of game.

I'd be open to Friday nights, but I wouldn't want it to kill Saturdays, as all the games on sky on a Sunday have made Saturdays quite average nowadays.
If 1 of the Sunday games could be axed instead, and moved to a Friday, that could work nicely.

They started Friday night football in Scotland in 2011 and there have been games played this year on Friday nights and yes I don't see any deep issues with playing friday night as Monday night football is a popular fixture. Monday, Friday? start of the working work, end of the working week, there isn't going to be a great deal of difference between each day in terms of attendance as it would be a great way to start the weekend for fans.

Finish work, head to the pub, watch the game and if you lose you can go out and get completely hammered without having to worry about the next morning or if its an away game there isn't a rush to get home!.....unless of course you're one of the unlucky ones to work weekends!

I still miss the days of the classic Saturday kick off as now its generally split between saturday/sunday but I always enjoy monday night football so friday night football would be a welcome addition.

I love going to see Swindon play on a Friday night. It's the best day of the week for a late game.

Watch Spurs on the TV on a Friday night? I think I'd get my balls busted. It's the only football free day in this house and it needs to stay that way.

Tranmere used to play games on Friday so, in theory, their fans wouldn't be more tempted to nip across the Mersey on a Saturday afternoon.

Palace should consider something similar, given most of Croydon supports Chelsea or (albeit in much lower numbers this season...) Man Utd.
