Better get down the bookies and see what odds I can get on relegation. May as well make some money out of it. On a more serious note, how long will Huw leave Monk in charge? 1 win in 8, with Everton and Arsenal next. So might be 1 win in 10. But is it too late for a new manager to turn things around?Or are the players not up to it. While Monk needs to take some of the blame, so do the players.
We desperately need wingers that can cross in the summer to put the ball in the box for Bony and Michu and bollocks to those who can do the fancy dancy crap.
Also Amat should've done better for the Mulumbu goal. We need Chico back - he's only suspended for one game, right? Thank **** we've got a good goal difference compared to the rest, were going to need it if it goes to the wire...
Problem is other teams have vastly experienced managers making in match tactical decisions and we have Gary Monk.
Be careful. I got really slagged off for suggesting Ash should go. Consensus was that he was one of our best players.
It was like a mirror of the palace game... dominated first half but couldn't put the chances away. Second half they come out firing and out muscle us. Really didn't see that result coming. We're well and truly in the dogfight now.
If Sunderland win one of their two games in hand, we'll be one point off bottom 3. Can't see us staying up.Good while it lasted. Back to reality.
Monk out-managed again. First half ok, second ****e...opposition manager working us out and changing tactics accordingly. Simply not good enough. At least ML tactically was sound. Monk appears clueless. All those who were saying we were back to the old Swansea were right. We have no plan B, just like the days under BR! The boys are going to have to man up now. It's going to be a rough ride in!
We need to scrape something from Everton and Arsenal away. Then it's Norwich home...absolute must win. No excuses. This cannot happen again.
This result will have surprised almost everyone in the division. We were odds on to win this. The second half was stomach churningly bad. It's all very well blaming Monk, but surely it's not just the manager that is causing these sort of performances. We seem to be not quite as good as our opponents - no matter how good they are. Look at the team out there today. Look at the start we had. Look at the chances we created in the first half. Look at the subs we had available. Apart from Chico and Dyer, that's as good as it gets for us with Michu and Pablo coming back. It was almost a replica of the Palace match - right down to the chance were Bony almost scored from close range - which would have made the score 2 nil in both matches. There is no excuse for this really. We used to put weight behind the fact that we seemed to perform better in the second half of games. That seems to have flipped now and the first half performances seem good - only to be followed by disappointing second half displays. What pisses me off is the bullshit that the club and players come out with in the press. All I've read this week has been quotes from Ash and Rangel saying things like "the rest will do us good", "we'll be much better for the break", "the break has given us a chance to work on the things we need to". Well ? What the **** happened then ?
It's the manager that should dictate the tempo of the game, why Monk allowed our ponderous drifting in possession only he knows, but we are crap with the final ball in front of goal, there was no heart, passion or fight in our players today, clearly they think they are too bloody good to go down!..............
yes a rerun of the Palace game - very good first half performance followed by a dreadful 2nd half. i could only put the Palace game down to fatigue but i really down know what to say about this - our confidence on the ball just drained away and so did the belief that we could get something - bad news considering we are deep in the relegation dogfight now
I can't agree with that part Plastic. The reality is that we are in the Premier League. Third season now. We still have a chance of staying up, but it seems our hope is that there are 3 teams who lose more than us rather than us winning our way out of trouble.
Bookies are still giving 10-1 for us being relegated, which means everyone thinks we're very safe indeed.
It just proves that all this tiredness talk is just bull****. It's just a poxy excuse for a poxy performance.
