Together you stand. Divided you fall. I think you'll be safe, I hope so because you're not a bad bunch of supporters.
My posting on here is to be short lived. I can't deal with people calling others 'stupid' just because they have a different opinion to them. It's incredibly disrespectful from people, whose posts I have read over the years, should really know better.
I really do not think that the league position is peoples gripe. I'm personally fairly happy with it, we've never been in that bottom 3 all season as I recall I think it has far far more to do with the way we play. Its deliberate, planned and its is rubbish to watch. People would probably not mind if that were the case and we were higher up, but to have lowly position and the rubbish style of play is what will get Hughton shown the door. He has taken us down a development path that very few want to go down, its formulaic, basic and easy to play.We are not the only ones and I think this has been one of the worst Premiership seasons in memory for quality of football. The money has made everyone too scared to get relegated.
I realise that all we can hope for is to keep up with the jones's in any one window but surely we should be a head of the promoted teams by virtue of them having championship squads, plus 3-4 new players, we have pretty much a new team of players now signed in the prem, presumably of at least lower end prem quality after 3 seasons in the division. Might we not expect a little more obvious progress and certainly some evidence of an improvement attacking the opposition? Afterall CH was being bigged up for addressing our biggest weakness season 1 the defence, so after that our obvious deficiency was attack most specifically scoring goals. He knew this as evidenced by our spending being primarily on two strikers, but has this facet improved? Believe me when I say I know it will always be tough in the prem, as our squad will always be in the bottom half, no quarter in supposed value and wages, so this is why we need a manager who can get the best out of them, the best may still end in relegation, but this does not seem like the best they could all do. I think this squad is capable of more, goals for a start and may be some football with the slightest hint of guile or joy. Bah!
I´d go along with a lot of that carrabuh, the money factor particularly has spread fear into at least half the teams in the Premier League, and Hughton is by no means alone in opting for safety first, many times when some fans are wishing he wouldn´t. Very few managers in the bottom half of the table are prepared to risk relegation at the expense of playing extravagant, expansive football. Whether we like it or not, staying up has become far more important then how teams stay up.
That kind of logic would mean the teams coming up should always go down. It's a huge simplification to suggest that clubs get promoted with 25 'championship' players. Cardiff spent more in the Championship in 2012/13 than Norwich spent in the Premier League. They could probably have fielded a team that only included players with PL experience.
I agree whole heartedly but it was these arguments about how amazingly well hughton did with such an oh so championship squads that I was proding at! That said we are also in theory a developing PL squad with increased experience and savy in this league, ha! Bah!
