The summer 2011 Nigel Pearson spend £1.5m and during his time Barmby didn't spend anything other then loans.

During the 2011/12 season Steve Bruce spent £8m.

Is to simplistic to think Allams realised they couldn't get hold of KC and panic realising to make any sort of cash and they had to get City into Premier League.

I believe the Allams knew less than zero about football and like many of their ilk , they believed it was like any other business.

Maybe they are still learning but have at least realised that running a tight ship does not get you up the leagues.

They have been unbelievably lucky in how things have turned out with Steve Bruce, it's just a shame we had to lose two good managers for them to learn.

It would be interesting to know who advised them on Steve Bruce.

It was that bloke Peter Chapman (?) Something like that anyway. The same guy who looked after the January signings.

Allam loves taking credit for it and talking about how right he was to sack Barmby, but takes no responsibility for that appointment.

Steve Bruce runs the club now be in no doubt. Well the football side that is.

You would have to go back to the days of Cliff Brittain and Terry Neill for a manager who was so respected and liked. Those players will die for SB at the moment. SB in return gives the players all the glory. How it should be.

Peter Chapman did the recommendation, original contact, and preliminary meetings. I don't think the Allam's knew who Steve Bruce was.
