http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...r-I-Brazil-England-view-career-highlight.html Just don't injure our players in any more trials of 'loyalty' Swiss Tony, you dickhead.
Yep im sure Gerrard and Rooney and Lampard etc will forget about winning the Champions League etc when they get to the last 16 in Brazil.
You're going to have to stop reading the mail mate, it's not good for your blood pressure! For the youngsters like Sterling it would be the highlight 'so far' but for Gerrard - not so sure - Istanbul is surely his highlight, and here's hoping there'll be another one in between that and Brazil
I agree jb but donga's just highlighting Woy's delusional thoughts, because its the highlight of his average career he assumes that applies to all of his players in the England squad.
Yeh I got that. Surely to goodness professional footballers don't need geeing up, or whatever RH is trying to do, for a WC. There doesn't seem to be much national pride in our players [or fans]. tbh I can't get too worked up over our chances myself, but saying that I am looking forward to the whole event. Do you think the CL has become a bigger event for them?
For some it has jb, let's be honest the list of possible winners are few and the list of "superstars" includes players from outside of those few select countries so therefore the CL is the pinnacle of their careers, don't get me wrong any player would love the honour of representing their country in the WC finals. I hate internationals for the reason donga said, our club to me comes first and our players are at risk of injury like the one Wilshire got, I understand Arsenal fans frustration over it.

I'm sure representing England is a highlight of a footballers career, especially at a world cup. I know growing up I dreamt of playing for Liverpool & England, I remember watching Euro '96 as a 13 year old and thinking if I tried really hard I could one day play at Wembley (the closest I ever got was watching my brother play at Selhurst Park). Playing the champions league year in year out is an amazing achievement but the world cup, you don't get many chances to play in one of them so **** manager or not it will certainly be a highlight (not the highlight but it will be up there)
i actually see nothing at all wrong in this. the world cup is only every 4 years and it is specia. just cos england are muck doesn't make it not special. just like the fa cup just cos some asshole thinks 4th is more important can't take the special edge off it... only the piss poor tv effort and lack of any will makes it so. the injuries to players is a separate issue that hodgson should be villified for yes but its separate to this. there's nothing wrong with saying the world cup should be a highlight of any career Gerrard is very lucky to have played multiple ones. some guys might get one and some might never get to it (bale)
