My lovely wife some time ago decided to arrange a suprise weekend away for us & the boy (4) on my birthday - 17 May - she won't let on where we're going & when I jokingly pointed out some time ago that it clashes with the cup final & what would we do if city got there (oh how we laughed) she just said well that would be your dilemma wouldn't it? so, what to do? How can I possibely miss the final? yet I can't let the missus and the boy down either can I? I feel the 'right' thing to do would be to go with the weekend away - and yet... She's playing it very canny at the moment & it just might be a weekend in London but she's still saying it's just my dilemma. Creative solutions anyone?

There isn't a dillemma. You have a birthday every year. If she would make you miss City's first ever appearance in a Cup Final you have to question if she is the right person for you.
Cup final hands down no question. How glad am I that my mrs got her dates mixed up and booked the weekend before away (for both of our birthdays) I was fuming at the time but now I feel like I've got Lady Luck on my side. Just to clarify, if she'd have booked the right weekend (same as yours) I'd tell her to stuff it and take a friend or family member.
As has been pointed out, City get to the F.A. cup final once every 100 years or so. There are many, many, alternatives to sex with your own wife. Your choice, but I know which way I'd go. Having said that, I've not (to my knowledge) had sex with your wife - she may be great (can you provide a photo and I'll give you a more categoric answer).
Not even a contest, tell her to cancel whatever it is now, so she can get a refund, as you're off to the Cup Final. She'll get over it..... & if she doesn't then sack her off, sorted
Wives can be replaced sometimes with better ones. We might not get to a cup final again. Besides if she loves you she would want you to go to Wembley If we get to the final #
Sex only lasts a minute or so, 2 if you are doing it twice, 2.1 minutes if you include foreplay (application of Brut 33), whereas a match lasts 90 minutes...... I can't really see why you would bother about not going away.
On a similar issue, upon learning we have the Sunday slot for the semi final, my daughters christening has just been cancelled
It could be worse if it was her birthday. It is your birthday and your day, so you should go where you want, so there is no question where that should be.

She sounds cruel. Assuming she knows how much an FA Cup final would mean to you, why would she tease you like this?
