Should the FA and the club postpone the name change decision until after the semi's. The club could be plunged into chaos by Papa Allam days before one of the biggest games in our history. Surely its best to leave it until the Monday, or if its a definite no put it on the Wembley TV's at half time!
Surely he'll withdraw the application by saying "With the increased revenue from Hull City competing in Europe next season there is now no need for a name change."?
If he wants a way to back out of the name change, getting in to Europe and the press/awareness surrounding that would be the perfect 'excuse'. Although I expect to here (if we do make it), 'that the name change is paramount to capitalise on the press/awareness from getting in to Europe...'
Why are people talking about Europe? A bit harsh towards Sheff U and Arsenal/Wigan would not be so easy either. Think people need get back to planet earth before they start booking hotels and telling the FA what they should do.
We only need to beat Sheff U and for Arsenal to win, to pretty much guarantee a place in Europe. I cant see Arsenal not grabbing a top 4 spot this season.
Oh right. So we'd get into Europe as Runner-ups? if Arsenal finish top 4? Well that changes everything.
You'd have thought just getting to a semi final was big enough at the minute. People whinge when we get overlooked or not taken seriously, and now City fans are passing off the semi final as an easy win. Don't take sheff utd for granted. One step at a time ffs. As for the name change. Get it done. I'm ****ing bored of all of it
The FA council decide on Wednesday the 9th, 4 days before Hull City AFC play in the worlds oldest football cup competition semi final at the traditional home of football, they won't change us to Hull Tigers then will they.
Personally I don't think they should postpone either the decision or the announcement. Both sides have put their case so there's nothing stopping the FA saying yeah or neigh. If this is my last season I'd like to enjoy the Wembley semi-final rather than worrying about what the FA is thinking and what they've decided.
the sheff u forums are filled with people confident they can beat us. They're delighted with having drawn us apparently... just goes to show.
