Well, we are officially screwed. Just lost a lot of season ticket holders for next season for sure. RD will kill this club

I have just had a conversation with a customer of mine who is also a realiable source, has pumped money into the club over the years and had lunch with CP on Thursday of last week unfortunately confirming the above to be true.

    Shocking.

Captain, if the new guy is obliged to play a team featuring all the minions, it won't matter how much we get behind them. I can see why after sunday's wtetched capitulation this was likely to happen, but I'll be amazed if this Riga guy comes in and does anything of note.
Seems an awfull long time since the win at Hillsboro.

I believe Riga was in charge or at training today?! I wouldn't be ssurprised to see it as an appointment till end of the season?! With him becoming Paul Harts successor.

Are we resigning ourselves to relegation already then?

I know the Liege players haven't exactly set the world alight so far, but even if they do play the Charlton fans have shown how much their vocal support can help the team, most notably against Cardiff last season.

Chris Powell has gone and I am as sad about that as anybody (unsurprisingly), but we can't let ourselves mope about it and drift into League 1 again when we still have every chance of staying up.

If Pete and Nego do play well it won't reflect too well on CP's judgment, which perversely we all want to see, because it will give us a fighting chance of staying up.

As much as I want to agree with you Captain, the players that were spurred on to victory against QPR are barely good enough to do it week in week out. I for one trusted Powell to decide that those brought in were no better than what we already had, he did not strike me as a man so stubborn that he would not pick players just because he did not bring them in.

RD has disposed of this man and replaced him with a puppet who is likely to show a bias towards the players that his puppet master (sorry......chairman!) brought into the club, players not deemed good enough by Powell.

For me, RD has already resigned us to League 1. Speaking of which, shouldnt making such decisions in an attempt to get relegated and save yourself £4m (as has been alleged) be treated the same as match fixing?

I know. Powell did start Reza and Nego against Wigan, as well as giving The Asteroid and Thuram game time, before reverting to the players he knew and trusted to do the job.

My point is that, whoever the 11 players are wearing the Charlton shirt from now on, they need our support. Talk of boycotts and protests won't bring Powell back, nor will it help us avoid relegation.

I'm aware of this allegation, but how does it help him make money (as is surely his ambition from this whole enterprise)? He will still have paid £12 million I think it was for the club, and if he wanted to sell us immediately he'd get even less if we are in League 1.

If you got Poyet to sign a three year deal-that would be worth say 3 mill, the rest of the team you would get say another 2 million, the ground 4 million, the assets 1 million, the goodwill and existing contractual obligations 2 million. You run the club into the ground, you apply for a tax break like Amazon do, an then run it skeleton staff like. You pile the team full of players that you already paying their wages in other teams in your franchise, it wont take long to get your money back.

SuperC has told us that it was actually Roland who put the kybosh on Poyet's contract which Katrien had negotiated, which signals the end of my giving Roland the benefit of the doubt.

KM has negotiated several contracts. None have been signed off. CP has gone - I now don't expect any to be signed.

Which begs the question, what is she doing there? Draining on the clubs resources while any good work she does is disregarded?

sorry cap'n... can't agree with you, and normally do. Not prepared to dumbly cheer Liege's B Team. This is not my Charlton, and until the owners start showing any positive attributes I think a good atmosphere at The Valley will be counter productive to the efforts to take the club back to the Premier League. I don't agree with Powell's sacking, but it's the tip of far worse crimes against the club. Protests and Boycotts from the silent West Stand. RIGA OUT. ROLAND OUT.

What do you hope to achieve with these protests and boycotts?

RD won't go away unless someone comes along and offers him what he would consider a decent amount of money for the club. A fan-led takeover surely isn't going to happen, and I can't envisage any other businessman being interested in us.

Surely we need to stay up, for which we need to win games. A good atmosphere at The Valley will help that.

RD will go away if he sees no money in staying... he's a businessman. Boycotts hit his bottom line, and given his personal fortune they make no difference to the financial stability of the club any more, so I won't be withholding money from the club, but from him. No fans = no revenue = no point.
A fan-led takeover will be a possibility if the value of the club goes down much more...

Have also entered the Euromillions tonight... £92m should be enough.

Do you not think that the capitulation might have happened because Powell was a dead man walking and his players, knew it?
