Yesterday was the 40th Anniversary of the infamous FA Cup match against Nottingham Forest.

    4-3 and what a comeback.

    Were you there?

A case of follow my leader. Just seemed like a good idea to some of them at the time.

And no, I wasn't one of them.

God only knows why you were not booted out of the competition when this happened, and history shows that lessons were not learned by your supporters..

    Best place to lead from.

The Charge of the Light Brigade was a charge of British light cavalry led by Lord jimileysbaldhead against Russian forces during the Battle of Balaclava on 25 October 1854 in the Crimean War. Lord Raglan, overall commander of the British forces, had intended to send the Light Brigade to pursue and harry a retreating Russian artillery battery, a task well suited to light cavalry. Due to miscommunication in the chain of command, the Light Brigade was instead sent on a frontal assault against a different artillery battery, one well-prepared with excellent fields of defensive fire.

Lord jimileysbaldhead was the only survivor.

All part of our history that we don't just ignore and hide from.

Unlike yourselves, who seem to have whitewashed any part you've played in causing trouble at football grounds.
Can you remember the days when you were the Bully Boys of the Third Division rampaging across the country.
Little York City took the brunt of your fans one day, with the ground smashed up and goal posts ripped out the ground.
The FA were a strange lot back then, personally, I could never understand how Sunderland got away with it and weren't docked points for the trouble the fans caused.

Your fans certainly haven't learned especially when it comes to the derby with us down at SOL, any excuse to get on the pitch, attacking players etc.
All part of your history, like it or not. <ok>

Certainly was. I used to be a regular in the Leazes End, but for some reason I was in the Paddock that day. The bloke who started it ended up in there and got a good hiding off the fans until the coppers managed to drag him out.

Was at game as a young un in Gallowgate with my Dad who always went in the Gallowgate regardless of how many away fans were there even for derby games. Was hilarious watching some big fat drunk bloke trying to fight about five policemen just prior to pitch invasion running towards us. Mostly it was pretty tame stuff to be honest, kids charging across pitch but still inexcusable although not particularly unusal at football in those days. Undoubtedly changed the flow of the game but the comeback was nonetheless still brilliant to watch. Due to the game being allowed to restart debatable whether it was fair to discount the result or whether we should concede the game or not. It was strange though that both replays were on neutral ground.
All part of our colourfull history i suppose, and the F.A.'s, but we lost the Final comfortably in the end anyway and i doubt if Forest would have even got to the final let alone won it anyway. All Hypothetical.
